So this man was a criminal scumbag then?

PraisebetoGod · 03/10/2025 17:41

Words fail me.

It's funny how people are happily prepared to damn the entire Roman Catholic Church for sex abuse and child neglect yet greatly object when a different group present with a common pattern of problematic behaviour.

Preach! Why is that I wonder?

Not hard to see how he was radicalised, then.

I wonder who radicalised Netanyahu?

And to do that is just as wrong. Given you're blaming all Muslims though, I can't imagine why you object to people blaming all catholics.

RingoJuice · 03/10/2025 17:51

smallglassbottle · 03/10/2025 17:38

It seems remarkably common. I'm just not identifying it in other groups. Do you know anything about islamism?

They are not very good at pattern recognition, I guess

Preach! Why is that I wonder?

The way I see it, the Catholic church systemically, INTERNALLY covered up sexual abuse, stole babies from pregnant teens and sucked money from poor communities for hundreds of years whilst EVERYONE IN POWER WITHIN THE CHURCH knew it.

In my opinion that isn't comparable to extremists carrying out acts of terrorism in any way.

If you knew any Muslims you'd know that they are disgusted by the actions of terrorists and angry and embarrassed by it.

Maybe Christians should feel the same about the cunts who abuse women outside abortion clinics. You know, identify the problem and speak out about it?

I've never spoken to a Catholic who has made anything but excuses for the atrocities carried out within it, in truth.

I am glad to see/hear some Jewish people speaking out against Netanyahu.

The problem with your assumption is that it assumes all Muslims are the same.

They are not.

Because human being are human beings and some will be problematic and some won't be, but certain belief systems can cause problems in its followers and starting with the Fatwa issued again Salman Rushdie all those years ago, I noticed that islam has a problem. I've read real life accounts, testimonies and books about this religion and common patterns emerge.

Was it a shock? After he changed his name to Jihad? Absolutely no warning signs?

I do wonder why that wasn’t flagged up to authorities? Surely changing your name to ‘jihad’ is a red flag for extremism ?

How many Catholics have you spoken to, then, @JustSawJohnny?

miserableandworried · 03/10/2025 17:57

Deport the cunt

RainOnMePolly · 03/10/2025 17:57

I really don’t know how many wake up calls we need before we tackle this insidious ideology. From terrorist atrocities and child grooming through to street level intimidation every weekend, how did we let it get this far so quickly?

smallglassbottle · 03/10/2025 17:57

RingoJuice · 03/10/2025 17:51

Bingo! Pattern recognition keeps you safe. People who willfully refuse to recognise problematic behaviour in other groups are putting themselves and others at risk. It's not about individuals, whom I'm sure might be perfectly reasonable people, but this highly individualised society we now find ourselves in, ignores group patterns.

ah, you've "done your own research"...

Didn't they come over as refugees? And this is how they repay the country that gave them sanctuary?!

Exactly.

RingoJuice · 03/10/2025 18:00

Mentioned this on another thread but I had a colleague, we were pretty tight and we’d go out drinking together. They were professional, born (I think) and certainly raised in the UK, drank alcohol. Actually seemed a decent person.

One day in a majority Muslim social event, they flat out said Charlie Hebdo staff got what was coming to them. Nobody pushed back.

That stayed with me.

We in the UK are not at war.
We don't see Russians persecuted in this country because of what Putin does. Or Chinese people because of the Chinese government. It's a handy excuse to indulge in Jew hatred.

We do have a lot of responsibility for other people’s wars though.

European and American Jews become the settlers responsible for the continued colonialism in Palestine which kills and makes refugees out of innocent people, which is probably why they were targeted. It’s no different and equally as horrific whenever anyone who has no control over political choices is made to suffer for them. There are innocent people everywhere being attacked, and none of it is justifiable. It is not worse because it happened in this country. We are connected.

Sanctuary from wars our allies and our politics created you mean?

What a lowlife scumbag. He should be deported.

But he won’t be. Some people in this country will even sympathise with his views

smallglassbottle · 03/10/2025 18:11

CopperWhite · 03/10/2025 18:07

Sanctuary from wars our allies and our politics created you mean?

So our self flagellation involves destroying our own country and putting our citizens at risk?

Pretty bloody stupid if you ask me.

Meadowfinch · 03/10/2025 18:11

I take profound offence that the offender is described on the BBC as British.

His place of birth, his parents, his values were not and never could be British.
There was absolutely nothing British about such an ignorant and valueless individual.

Thank goodness he's dead. The world is a safer place without him.

TheFrendo · 03/10/2025 18:12

He is a surgeon.

He should be sacked from the NHS/whoever? for his public support of Hamas's attack on Israel.
