Double buggy on the airport shuttle – AIBU to ask someone to shift their cases?

I was on the airport shuttle bus with a double buggy. This bus was smaller than the one we got to the airport on, and only had front boarding (normally I’d use the middle double doors).

Queue was long, loads of people with suitcases, but no other buggies.
When I got on, a man and his son were standing in the buggy/wheelchair space with two big cases. I asked if they could move, as I couldn’t block the aisle with the buggy (people were still getting on, and I couldn’t go further because of the steps).

The man pointed at his luggage, so I said I could help him put it in the rack. His son told him to go sit down and said he’d sort it. The man huffed at me and went, but gave me a look when he got off the bus.

I don't think I was unreasonable but maybe I was? If someone in a wheelchair had come along I would have got off and waited for the next bus - DC were basically asleep

Ah, the whole airport shuttle experience is a pain in the arse. You wait for ages, getting anxious; you say yourself the queue was long; there’s never enough space for luggage; I can put my case into the floor bit but if that’s full I can’t lift it into the upper rack so have to put it wherever I can.

We’ve all got pissed off under similar circumstances. Cut him some slack.

You’re giving this way too much thought. Airport shuttles are horrible - people are tired, cranky, fed up and just want to get to their destination. Yes, he should have moved but I really couldn’t get worked up over it.
