AIBU to expect people to check what they type before posting, or responding to a post on here? The odd typo is understandable, but writing 'can't' when you mean 'can', or 'have' instead of 'haven't', can totally change the meaning of what we're trying to say. For example, I commented on the post about the woman who's female partner has been showing red flags toward her 3 year old daughter, her response was, ' I can’t assure you I’m not back peddling', when I sincerely hope that she meant to write, 'I CAN assure you I'm not back peddling'.

I seem to see these mistakes quite often on here, and while you can usually work out what the poster intended to say, I just find this lack of attention to the important details really annoying.

OK, rant over people, as you were!😆

Meh...

People are typing at speed, often on their phones. Some of us are incredibly time poor and busy giving attention to detail to other bits of professional work. I try to sense check that I haven't written complete nonsense and correct spelling mistakes but with the best will in the world I don't have time to proof-read posts.

As long as a post is not totally illiterate I can't get too excited about the odd typo on AIBU.
