to see if this plumber turns up or ask someone else?

Family member recommended this guy to look at my boiler as he’s good and decent rates - it’s urgent as there’s water leaking into my downstairs neighbour and I’m bloody cold as I’m keeping it off for now.

anyway yesterday this plumber said I can come tomorrow or Tuesday morning. I replied Tuesday morning would be great. No reply. I followed up 10am today to check if we’re still on and still nothing.

in meantime another plumber says they can come out. Should I try him instead or see if the first guy turns up? I feel like I don’t speak Plumberese and maybe he’ll just show up after all.

I suppose I am asking - I’d a tradesman suggested a time and you said yes would you take that as confirmation?

the missing bit is he hasn’t said I’ll see then etc and isn’t replying

I genuinely can't tell if you think it's Tuesday today, or if you're just asking for a general follow up to check if he's still coming tomorrow (Tuesday)?

should I wait and see or just take up the offer or another plumber now? He’s my parents plumber so I don’t want to mess him about either

It's definitely a tricky one. I understand plumbers can be busy, but it takes 2 minutes (if that!) to send a confirmation text. I would ask the second plumber to do the work for you, and text the first plumber to tell him that someone else is coming tomorrow instead

I’ve had a terrible time with tradespeople recently, seeming keen to take the job and then just not turning up! I would assume he wasn’t coming if he didn’t confirm today, as that has been my recent experience. I ended up with four no-shows for the last job I needed doing 😩

Ok so I spoke to my dad and he says he tends to be unresponsive but also always turns up. What does a quick text take as mentioned…it does seem to be a tradesperson thing doesn’t it
