to think that replacing a chest pad for the baby's car seat for £40.00 is outrageous?

My toddler has managed to take one of the pads off the baby's car seat shoulder strap and hide it.

I called Maxi Cosi and they said that in order to replace the pad, I need to purchase the entire cover set for £40.00.

Is it me or is this ridiculous? Or am I the only one to loose car seat pads?

I lost a pad from my son'd recaro and they replaced it for free. that maxi cosi won't.

NotABanana · 03/06/2008 14:13

son's

Iklboo · 03/06/2008 14:14

Well, since you can buy a good, legal & safe car seat in its entirety for about £40 from some stores I'd say yes it is bloody ridiculous!

spiderpig · 03/06/2008 14:49

That's terrible

If it helps though I bought a set of two chest pads from mothercare on saturday for £10 as we lost our maxi cosy ones too

Berryred · 03/06/2008 14:51

how did he manage to take it off lol!!

£40 is very steep

Bramshott · 03/06/2008 14:54

Is it just the bit which makes the straps softer? If so, you can use an old pair of socks instead.

NotABanana · 03/06/2008 16:52

Chest pads are for safety, extra protection in a crash.

EffiePerine · 03/06/2008 16:59

Ebay? Good for spares.

thanks Spiderpig - great suggestion, but DS was born at 5 lbs 5 oz and generally is tiny. Long, but tiny. The Mothercare pads look like wings on him and too big to be safe/comfortable so had to take them back.

I just HATE companies that make you feel stupid/inadequate and being held to ransom. Grrrrr!!!!

Ah fair enough mom2ava

I had the same problem with my ds who was a premmie and about the same size, with him I bought a whole set including a teeny head hugger and body insert as well as the chest pads .......it was a lot less than £40 but I can't for the life of me remember where we ordered it from, sorry

Hope you can sort out something without having to resort to paying that ridiculous amount to maxi cosi!
