Here I am once more a week before my period I can feel the actual shift in my personality. Anxiety high, easily frustrated, in tears even today. Wanting to be left alone. Jumping to ridiculous conclusions. Thinking the worst.

And my concentration is absolutely gone. Presumably because all of the above. This means while I performed well at work last week, I just know next week I will hate everyone and everything and barely have it in me to do good work.

I’ve felt so utterly fucking miserable all night. In ten days I will be fine, enjoying life. I’m so fed up of it and no matter what I try I can’t seem to get a handle on this awful week or so every month

@ChristmasIsComingVerySoon it didn’t work for me, the feelings were still quite strong unfortunately

What is "it"? There are so many types of different pills and contraception options that can help with this. It's trial and error.

I used to be the same as a teenager and 3 different pills later and I finally found one that worked for the mood swings. Now I have a coil fitted and rarely any periods.

Have you thought about the mirena coil? I had one about a year ago and it really helped. Still sometimes have bad months but they are no where near as severe.

Sorry I should have said does anyone have any tips for how to cope better with this? I’m so sick of it

I used to suffer very badly. I recommend a book "Curing PMT the Drug Free Way" by Moira Carpenter - it's old but I've checked and copies are available from Abe Books.

It's not a miracle cure and you have to follow the nutritional advice. I found that, for me, what I ate in the 1st half of the menstrual cycle affected how I felt in the 2nd half. I followed all the advice and felt a bit better the following month and much better after that.

I was going to suggest the mirena coil as others have. I've not had a period in years.
