For example
When are you going to have kids?

Are your tits real or fake?

If a man was asked that, it would be part of a wider, more in-depth discussion.

"This job requires fsir amount of overseas travel, how would that fit in with your home life?"

"Hi it's the school here, Jacob's been sick, can you pick him up please in the next 5 minutes"

If you put the fathers name as 1st contact we would contact him first at my school, or sometimes with older children we'll ask who to call as they will know for example that mum is away for work or dad is WFH.

Downplayit · 27/09/2025 18:53

Ooh I like this thread 😂"How do you juggle everything?"

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 27/09/2025 18:57

Smile. Whilst not a question it is a uniquely male arsehole to female statement.

Thewitchsong · 27/09/2025 19:00

Who bought you those flowers? (Me,I bought them)

You on the blob? (No,just sick of your bullshit)

You should be with the kids 24/7 and never need a break and you can't work if you have kids (ok mother,we'll all stave as im not earning any money)

When I get old, your going to look after me as I can't do it (nope father, not happening, you have 3 sons that can wipe your arse)

What do you mean your going back to work?what about the kids? (Said by my parents to both myself and my sister-in-law)

Pisses me off

RicStar · 27/09/2025 19:05

I have definitely been asked vastly more times than DH how I manage full time work and three kids. I often get questions as to if DH minds / is OK that I am at a work dinner - don't think DH often gets asked that.

I also get told I am assertive/ opinionated/ grumpy and general emotion based comments far more I believe than my equally those things male colleagues. My boss honestly tells me he prefers it when I am smiling vs I suppose looking tired / stressed (often just neutral in my head). Which I understand to some extent, but I am pretty sure our male COO or CTO are not expected to be "smiley".

Can you imagine the wife of a World Cup winning Sportsman's being interviewed pitchside about his sacrifice having to leave their toddler for training?

As an adult, if I'd just won the World Cup they could ask me the square root of negative 100 and I wouldn't care! If the men ever win anything there will be wives and children there at the pitchside! Well done Red Roses, just watching the recording, can't dare watch live!

Tbf I've questioned my male colleague on why he's not wearing a wedding ring...... But generally the only reason men don't is to cheat so probably not the same

MN sexism, there can only be one reason for a man not wearing his wedding ring can't there. Personally I don't wear mine after a finger accident has left me with a distorted knuckle.

InTheWellBeing · 27/09/2025 19:39

Could I carry those heavy bags for you?

Haveanother · 27/09/2025 19:49

ChipDaleRescueRangers · 27/09/2025 18:37

You're going back to work full time after the baby?!?!?!?!?! (Said with a look of horror on their faces)

Often followed by "I could never have done that!!"

coffeeagogo · 27/09/2025 19:51

Doesn’t your husband mind you going on holiday with other men? (When I am on sailing holidays to learn new skills and he is at home with the kids - we take it in turns to do courses) blows their minds that my husband encourages me to go and enjoy myself and trusts me to behave (they all have very high opinions of themselves!)

Rushing to A&E with your leg half hanging off and the first question will be

”are you pregnant? When was your last menstrual cycle”

They really do have to do this if you need an X-Ray or medication.

DH has never had a wedding ring. He dislikes jewellery and it wasn't such an imperative 34 years ago. He has never cheated.

Emori · 27/09/2025 20:28

Your wife did the washing up? I hope you realise how lucky you are, that's amazing.

InTheWellBeing · 27/09/2025 20:30

Would you like to book an appointment with the gynaecologist?

Neither DH or I have ever had a wedding ring - still happily married 30 years

Not when your leg is half hanging off!!!!! I’m talking about genuine emergencies, not just rocking up at A&E

You've got magnificent tits

I was just going to mention this - the (female!) interviewer asked one of the winning Red Roses rugby players whether ‘it was worth all the time away from your daughter?’ and I said to my husband that there’s no way that would have phrased it like that with a male player. If they mentioned the daughter at all, it would have been to say ‘I bet she’s so proud of you’ or ‘she’s going to be so proud of you when she’s older’ or similar.

I think they asked it because she had been interviewed at some point during the championship and had said something about wanting to make it worthwhile for having missed so much time with her daughter on training camps. But even if a man had mentioned time away from his family, they'd have probably been talking about a try or defence strategies and the game plan instead.

JacknDiane · 27/09/2025 20:56

Cheer up luv!!!

JudesBiggestFan · 27/09/2025 21:16

What world are you all living in?! I never get asked any of these! Are you in a 1950s time warp?!

Tiredtom · 27/09/2025 21:19

How do you manage to stay on top of the house and kids stuff with a full time job..
