"Hi it's the school here, Jacob's been sick, can you pick him up please in the next 5 minutes"

I was once away for a family funeral, the school had been told I was going to be hours away and for any issues to call DH (stepdad to my kids and down as their guardian on their system). Youngest took ill at school, she reminded the office to phone stepdad and not me, and they STILL insisted on phoning me 3 times (which I couldn’t answer) and leaving voicemails before they gave up and tried DH.

How about this charmer..

’I just want to get into you, do you know what I mean?’

A woman would never ask a man that question.

🤮🤮🤮🤮

But a man might ask a man that question 🤣

TheNightingalesStarling · 27/09/2025 17:54

Can you imagine the wife of a World Cup winning Sportsman's being interviewed pitchside about his sacrifice having to leave their toddler for training?

InTheWellBeing · 27/09/2025 17:54

Have you read the new Robert Galbraith book?

Humptydumptie · 27/09/2025 17:55

Why don’t you just get your other half to fix it when he gets home?
Er b’cos I don’t have another half & I’ve called you precisely for your supposed plumbing/electrical/ other expertise. Just do the bloody job & don’t patronise me for needing to call you!! Would this be said to a man?

ConnieHeart · 27/09/2025 17:55

Do you want me to hang the washing out for you? Or any other household chore. I usually reply, well it's your clothes too!

LyndaSnellsSniff · 27/09/2025 17:56

"You're going back to work full time? When will you fit in the housework?" (asked by my mum)

"You don't iron? But what about your husband's shirts?"

"Isn't your baby a bit young to be at nursery?" (female colleague)

"Is your husband babysitting the kids tonight?" (New school mum friend)

The bit young to be at nursery comment infuriated me so much. I wish I'd asked what they thought the alternative was!

InTheWellBeing · 27/09/2025 17:58

Will your husband be paying for that?

Not lost the baby weight yet?
Does your wife mind you working?
Should you be drinking in your condition

Does your wife mind you working?
I mean, I doubt that question has been asked since the 70s if not before, and it would only be a question posed to middle class men because if a working class woman was working, it was obvious that she had to to make ends meet.

My male boss is v v overweight and has lost a few stone through diet and exercise and he is asked all the time if he's on weight loss jabs so I don't agree with that
