I have no problem at all with controlled immigration. I spent a few decades working for a company where certain skill sets were brought in from non-UK nationals, so I appreciate the value of legal immigration. I was fully supportive of the help the UK gave to Ukrainian nationals when the war broke out in their own country. My own neighbours are Sikhs and have worked valuable careers in the NHS, they are wonderful people. We can all live in harmony if we have respect for each other and good values.

Immigration needs some control though. I struggle to see how the UK can keep funding and accommodating hundreds of thousands of people who turn up illegally (and yes, predominantly young men arriving in boats). I'm sure some are fleeing wars and violence, but a lot aren't. It's possible to have concerns about the numbers, and the effect this is having on the economy and resources, without being a racist fascist murdering scatty chavvy paedophile.

I think this is exactly it. When we go to other countries we are expected to learn the language and fit in with their culture. When people come here they expect us to accept their culture, there is very little respect for British culture from many and that is going to have a negative effect on people’s perceptions and acceptance.
