Dreading first holiday abroad with DS

Nothing is booked yet but my DH is adamant he wants us to go abroad (Tenerife) in early December when our DS will be 17 months.

I just can’t see past this being really stressful, the travelling, not being able to relax, worrying about food etc.

Am I being unreasonable to think this? He says he will be fine once we are there. Positive stories from anyone who has done it would be welcome!

It will be lovely. Surely at his age he’s eating much the same as you? If ordering in a restaurant order his main course to come
with your starter and his pudding to come with your main.

We deliberately avoided abroad holidays when dc were babies/toddlers as it just didn’t appeal to us.
We waited until dc were around 6 and they loved it.
Things to consider-
will the temp/pool be warm enough?
bed situation
transfer time from airport to hotel
things to do
is you dh hands on or will you be trying to entertain a errant toddler while he relaxes?
are you both realistic that your child will be the same or worse abroad?
is your baby easy going/laid back or demanding? This will determine your holiday experience

Sounds like a waste of money, going on a holiday you’re not looking forward to. I wouldn’t go if you don’t fancy it.
