Migrants get up to £2000 on bankcard after prison sentences

Ihatetomatoes · 24/09/2025 22:14

Just watched 47 migrants being deported, costing hundreds of thousands, private flights, huge number of security guards, the migrants then get given cash cards! Back to Romania after committing crimes here including murder, sexual offences, pedophiles with money to help them resettle in their own country.

ITV news - our own go hungry and cold.

We are total mugs here in the UK.

On a separate story migrants having taxis to appointments, free NHS. I mean we have to get to our own way.

Mugs. No wonder many people are unhappy. These are convicted criminals, being pandered to.

I refer to the latest government poll that confirms 79 % of the U.K. population think immigration is too high.

If you are a tax payer you are hardly likely to want your hard eened money being spent on £600 tacis and deportation bribes (when they just return anyway) with a different name and passport. Usernames are not a good gauge! I am clearly not a nesting bird 😂

But why would you assume she’s on benefits?

Even the asylum seeker who was told the taxi costs £600 didn’t want to go by taxi. He was told a train is not an option.

Do you really think anyone wants to travel hundreds of miles for a doctor’s appointment?

Bank cards with up to £2000 on them. They are criminals. Murder, sex criminals, etc. Romanian, not in any danger.

Sounds like an incentive for them to come here, steal as much as they can til they “eventually “ get caught , then get paid 2k after being flown back home. They probably travelled here in a goods lorry - not saying illegally since they are EU - but because a flight would be unaffordable.
I can re-imagine a monopoly board game based on this racket !

Police need to get tougher on these migrant criminal gangs. Stripped of assets , bank accounts frozen ( though they probably keep everything in cash hidden away) and sent back to Romania in a lorry with agreement from their government they’ll be collected by police and sent to prison there.
But NO I WONT VOTE FARAGE
But Starmer needs to step up & sort this kind of thing out.

These are all criminals. Romania is their country.

This is disgusting. Not all Romanians are criminals. I've met a few lovely hard-working ones.

Glad I don't know you in real life.

That is clearly not what the poster said. This story is specifically about convicted criminals being given money by the government. Where does the poster say 'all Romanians are criminals'?

BIossomtoes · 25/09/2025 08:01

Is there any evidence for this 79% figure you keep bandying about @Nestingbirds? You know, like a link to a poll?

BeardofHagrid · 25/09/2025 08:02

MsJinks · 25/09/2025 06:39

Agreed. They must have documents or the receiving country wouldn’t take them - they mainly require proof of citizenship to accept returns. As would the U.K. before you worry.

I would urge you to look up the case of an Afghan called Lawangeen Abdulrahimzai. He pretended to be 15 and was placed with an elderly couple in Bournemouth, and he was allowed to attend a local school. He went on to stab a young man to death in the town centre. After his conviction it came out that he had murdered two men in Serbia the previous year. He was also an adult man. They absolutely don’t need documents to get in.

We have to give them five star hotel rooms and £2000 bank cards or we are “Nazis”, remember 😌

Don’t be ridiculous, nobody is in 5* hotels Hmm

This is the hotel at the centre of the Epping protests, The Bell Hotel. Does it look 5* to you?

Agree, of course not all Romanians are criminals, that’s ridiculous. The ones That come here for honest work are very welcome. We do need migrants in UK.

There is an entire industry built around these types of gangs operating in the UK, they are prosecuted here, get deported. Lie low for a month, then they are back with a different identity. It couldn’t be easier.

The public would rise up in absolute fury if they have any idea how much this is costing just in court and police costs alone. We see the same people time and again, they have total contempt for the UK and the wet lettuce system that rewards them with houses and benefits whilst they deal drugs and sell stolen cars in plain sight.

Whoever didn’t do their due diligence on him has blood on their hands and should pay a penalty whether that’s a fine or prison time if we have space

Bloozie · 25/09/2025 07:50

It's almost like you people don't want to deport individuals that shouldn't be here and reduce the overall cost to the country.

"Get rid of illegal criminals. No, not like that. Or that. Do it in a way that doesn't cost a single penny and remove a few of their toes while you're at it."

Or...once someone is convinced of a crime, if that makes them liable for deportation, do it straight away instead of putting them in a UK prison and going through the lengthy and costly appeals process.

They can keep all of their toes.

crunchylamp · 25/09/2025 08:05

I've looked after prisoners who come for dialysis treatment with 2 prison guards three times a week.

Now that is gonna cost A LOT of money, You'll hate that @Ihatetomatoes

There are many things that happen that you can choose to get outraged about. Why not become an MP and try to change a few laws? Or you could just put a post on Mumsnet and then make comments for the Daily Express.

Sevenamcoffee · 25/09/2025 08:05

I don’t get the outrage at providing asylum seekers with medical treatment. It would be inhumane not to do so in my view.

They give them money to get them to agree to go. The £2k is far less than the cost of housing them and all the court time and paperwork etc if they don't agree to leave voluntarily.

Sounds like a bargain to me!

100%
If our government doesn’t toughen up then it will be their fault if Farage is elected .
I won’t vote Farage but many will and protest votes are a thing .

I wouldn’t want to contribute to their bus fare though.

Aren’t you nice.

BeardofHagrid · 25/09/2025 08:05

Oh yeah, because that’s really the point.

So what is the point? That we should just blindly believe you about 5* hotels for asylum seekers? Hmm

The hotels were previously 2 star or 3 star when they ran as hotels, now they’re not even that.

Hulabalu · 25/09/2025 08:09

LakieLady · 25/09/2025 08:06

Why do we need their agreement. Just deport them with nothing but shirt on their back to a police escort to take them to prison in Romania

It's been repeatedly reported today that deportation and 2K is far cheaper than keeping them here.

Be cheaper still to deport and NOT give them 2K.

That's the point. Its rewarding crimne.

I'm one of the 79% that thinks immigration is too high.

I also think that:

  • We need immigration in this country, not just to fill labour gaps but because it enriches our communities
  • Immigration isn't the biggest issue facing the country right now - not even close - and if we closed the doors today it would bankrupt us
  • Shouting at hotels and painting flags on roundabouts is quite frankly pathetic
  • This government is doing more to actually clear the hotels and attempt to slow the boats than any previous government
  • Nigel Farage is a grifting populist snake oil salesman

Trotting out 79% like there's some sort of mandate for the mass bed wetting over immigration right now is a gross misrepresentation of that figure. We need to grow our own workforce and build our economy from within. But the numbers Johnson allowed in were a necessity to keep our economy afloat after the aforementioned grifting populist snake oil salesman persuaded us to tank it. Immigration was the only lever he could pull given the context of pandemic and war. There are no simple answers to a complex problem and the conversation never gets beyond 'I don't want my money spent on this'.

None of us do. That does not solve the problem.

PansyPotter84 · 25/09/2025 08:11

Er… this isn’t scare-mongering.

The BBC did a radio documentary earlier this week about life in migrant hotels.

Migrants were cooking in the bathrooms because they didn’t like the quality of the free meals provided at the hotel, not because they were required to.

People living and working at the hotels were interviewed, including some of the children.

It was telling that many people had been sold a lie by people smugglers- they had been told that when they got to the UK they would be entitled to everything free- a home, benefits, childcare, healthcare. No wonder they were willing to pay large sums of money.

A man with a family who had fled Iraq said that many many people living at the hotel were not fleeing persecution but were there for a better life.

One woman was there because she had Cancer and came because she knew the NHS would treat her.

People there had babies on purpose,
conceived in the UK, because they knew it would be hard to deport them and they would go to the front of the queue for housing, benefits etc.

The taxis were mentioned too. A security guard said that taxis were provided and that there was no reason most of the residents could not use public transport but they felt they were entitled so would insist “taxi!
taxi! taxi!”.

The security guard also mentioned how people felt that they were entitled to have their rooms cleaned for them
rather than cleaning up after themselves.

It was the children I felt sorry for.

This isn’t scaremongering. This wasn’t right-wing journalism with an agenda-
this was the BBC.

Unfortunately, we have reached a stage where to raise legitimate concerns is met with accusations of racism and support for Reform UK.

My concern is this- if the country can afford to put up new arrivals in hotels with good,
taxis, healthcare etc, then why do I, in my job (public sector) deal with British citizens, some of whom have served in the armed forces, who are literally street homeless and told that their local authorities don’t have housing for them.

My position is NOT that asylum seekers shouldn’t have all the lovely things and entitlements that they are given, but that homeless British citizens should have them AS WELL.

That is my question.

If we can afford these things for migrants, surely we can afford these things for homeless British citizens?

If not, why not?
