Because she went out for hours and her dog shit copiously and had diarrhoea.
I said absutely not and she went off in a strop.
Sorry but I don't need dog poo in and on my new carpet cleaner.

And then you excitedly pulled out your phone to start a mumsnet thread about it!

Quoting the OP to ignore the unnecessary post above.

YANBU, OP, well done for saying no!

She can go and rent a bloody Rug Doctor. Although God help the person who rents it after her!

The neighbour needs to put on rubber gloves, fill a bucket with hot water, carpet cleaner and disinfectant, and clean the carpet manually. She's the one who's being unreasonable even thinking of cleaning a shitty, sick carpet with a machine.

I can't believe she even thought it was okay to ask this. I hope you told her so.

I’m currently batting away my friend who wants to borrow my almost-new Vax Spotwasher (bloody miracle worker) She has 2 dogs with dodgy stomachs and a grotty husband with dodgy ideas about hygiene.
Im keeping her at bay by saying I don’t know how it works yet… but she does keep asking.
It was about £120, an excellent buy but she won’t buy if she can borrow. Other girls have lent her theirs in the past - but not ever again!
I would not be lending my carpet cleaner out in the OPs circumstances!!

I clean my son's vomit with my own machine
