10 month not babbling

My 10 month old isn’t babbling I’m going to get a hearing test done for her, she is responding to her name and giving eye contact also clapping just wanting to know you’re stories of you’re 10 month old not babbling at this age then starting … she is a twin and her brother has been babbling for awhile now

Hi! My first never babbled at all. First word 19 months but at 2 and a half he only had 7 words. Then all the words came at once! He was a little difficult to understand for a while but totally understandable now at 3 and a half.

My second also didn’t babble at 10 months. Think she started around 14 months. She is now almost 2 and still doesn’t have many words (under 10) but is excellent at signing and point and grunt.

I worried so much with my eldest, much more relaxed this time around. Sounds like you are doing all the right things with the hearing test etc. If you don’t already I’d do some signing with her, it will really relieve her frustration while she waits for the speech to come.

If you have concerns speak to your health visitor and ask them to visit.

My son was a very late talker, didn’t take until he was 4. He’s 10 now and literally never shuts up.

My eldest GC didn't babble. She was regarded as having speech issues and they were about to do a referral when she was coming up to three. Before the referral was taken up, she started to speak and didn't stop. My youngest GC has moderate hearing loss and did babble. It's something to keep an eye on, but too early for intervention anyway. Just keep narrating play, shopping, meal times etc.
