Saw this and felt sick - there is truly no end to the greed and manipulation of those who profit from the social media woven into our lives. I want to warn others , though I'm not sure what to do about it:

Parents outraged as Meta uses photos of schoolgirls in ads targeting man https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/sep/20/parents-outraged-meta-uses-photos-schoolgirls-ads-man?CMP=ShareiOSAppp_Other

Connected to this - Meta not allowing parents to access their own instagram or facebook after the site is taken over by trolls. I've not had access to my account since 2022 and they won't believe my password has been changed by someone else. Presumably that person now has rights to all of my pictures?

Men are disgusting for this and will use people they know to create porn with AI. It's similar to the crime rates of femicide; more likely to be someone you know.

Oh no @SolarVie, that's awful. I'm sorry you've had that experience. It's the powerlessness again - Meta doing what it chooses with your info and access.

When will people learn to not post pics of their kids. Please delete what you can now and save it for your own family album. No one in the internet needs/wants to see your child. And you have no idea who is harvesting these photos.
