Has anyone seen The Rockettes at Christmas in New York?

Hoping to visit NY over Christmas 🤞🏼

Would i be unreasonable to buy them on the day?

Its showing as at least 150 dollars per person (two of us) if I book online for xmas eve, but wondering if they will be sold out on the day or cheaper?

Tia x

I have!! It was wonderful and very Christmassy! I got mine in advance though and there is no way you’d get them on the day on Christmas Eve!

Crunchymum · 20/09/2025 16:05

I imagine with everything on Xmas eve you'll need to book in advance but by the sounds of it you've not yet booked your NY trip so I certainly wouldn't be booking tickets to shows before the trip is confirmed.

Parker231 · 20/09/2025 16:06

We’ve been - a lovely part of the lead up to Christmas. Book early as the tickets go very quickly.

fluffiphlox · 20/09/2025 16:08

i have (some years ago). Book in advance to guarantee your seat. It’s very popular.

newyorknewyorkforevernewyork · 20/09/2025 16:47

Any advice on seating? Orchestra or first mezzanine

First mezannine is practically 200 dollars pp 😭😭😭

Also, do they do disabled and carer tickets? Can't see anything and have emailed them

Sorry just remembered about this. I have no particular advice but I do remember it being vast and our sight line was pretty good. I enjoyed the Rockettes but be prepared for a rather ostentatious Nativity scene at the end which was IMO rather tasteless.

Thanks everyone, very helpful advice and i plan to take it when the time comes 🥰🥰

We really enjoyed it and I just looked back in my emails, went in 2019 was $55 for each of us. Our seats were 3rdm27 row bb whatever that means but view was fine.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 27/09/2025 16:39

If you get chance to do the backstage tour as well, definitely do - it’s great!

Soonenough · 27/09/2025 16:44

Very traditional Xmas pageant . Harks back to an age of ENTERTAINMENT. Chorus girls high kicking in a row might not be your idea of a show but it is an iconic part of a NY Xmas. If you can get tickets for $100 then it's a bargain .

BreakingBroken · 27/09/2025 17:08

Thanks for the memory jog. I have many fond memories of radio city music hall and the rockettes.
I can’t help on pricing or seating though.

Yes, we spent Christmas in NYC for our honeymoon a decade ago and the show was amazing, well worth it! We bought tickets from the venue on the day and paid a lot less than that but it was ten years ago and we went the day after Boxing Day so there were still tickets at the box office. I very much doubt there would still be tickets available for the Christmas Eve show nearer the time and I would only expect prices to climb as Christmas approaches. I would absolutely go for it, it's a definite must in experiencing a proper NYC Christmas!

newyorknewyorkforevernewyork · 23/11/2025 18:17

Following on from this thread, the rockettes are a yes

Has anyone done a horse and carriage ride in Central Park at christmas?? It's around 220 for two people for 50 mins

Advice needed please 🥰

Yes I have but some years ago. Can’t tell you about tickets as we bought them in advance. It was great.

mondaytosunday · 23/11/2025 19:10

Just seen your Q about the horse. No, but we did take a hair raising rickshaw ride from Macy’s to Grand Central via Times Square. Not for the faint-hearted but much cheaper!

Hair rising made me laugh 😄

£200 is steep isnt it, and tbh, not sure that dd would be massively into it after 5 mins 🤔

I’d steer clear of the horses personally. They never look very happy and they stink of poo.

BeaglingAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/11/2025 19:20

Please don't use the horses - they're not treated well at all and get practically no turnout. Their stables are literally inside concrete blocks.

thicklysettled · 23/11/2025 19:53

We sat on the front row of the mezzanine balcony. Perfect view. Incredible show - and it's very possible to be too close to the stage!

Daytimetellyqueen · 23/11/2025 20:17

Have done both The Rockettes (amazing) & the Horse & Carriage ride (less impressive!) at Christmas time in NYC. Have an amazing time!

If you can afford it & want to, then do it, but it’s honestly not really worth it & you’re not missing much if you don’t do it.

Have an amazing time - I adore NYC!

Thank you 🙂 - nyc is just the dream

I think £200 is so steep and maybe its something for another time

Also the above comments have made me sad for the horses 🥺

The rockettes is yes🤞

I am looking at santa in macys but i imagine it will be PACKED

Yes, and it was wonderful. I saw them on Christmas Day a couple of years ago. Magical experience

newyorknewyorkforevernewyork · 23/11/2025 21:01

Has anyone seen santa in macys? Was it hell on earth? xx

I’ve not done that, no, but imagine it would be well organised, even if very busy.
