To ask you to help me work out which film DD5 is trying to describe

DD5 is looking for this film:

It has the boys with hats and green hair in a black and white room. And the boys sing.

If it was DS, then I wouldn't take any of it too much at face value

However DD has a borderline photographic memory. She can recall the exact words, and most minor details of everything

She went on her first school trip a year ago when she started reception. It was about an hour away on a coach. About 3 weeks ago, we happened to head in the same direction and the penultimate roundabout before you would turn off to the school trip location, DD announced "this is where our coach took us for the dinosaurs, it's actually at the next round and round" (roundabout)

If she says it's human boys with green hair in a black and white room, and they sing, she isn't mistaken.

I mean, she still can't wipe her bum properly. But her memory is insane.

I agree with PP, we will randomly discover it 3 years later.

Wishing you lots of luck finding it OP. My youngest is the same. He reads a school book once then memorises it. Not sure where he gets it from as we can't even remember what we had for breakfast 😂

I've just asked Claude a lot of questions and he doesn't have a clue either, sorry OP.
I'm really feeling the struggle here...if I lose something or can't quite remember something that's on the tip of my tongue...well, I have no peace until it's solved!

A long shot, but could it be the White Stripes: Seven Nation Army music video? Real "boys", black and white room and loud guitars. I can't recall any green hair but there are definitely strobe lights and they distort colour, so green may have featured via that.

It really does sound like the Mike Teavee glam rock song they do in the TV Chocolate room. That is all black and white... but they don't have green hair or black hats.

Ok.

The boys are also wearing black and white clothes, and they do dance... although she did have to really think about that, and was a bit vague on that.

I've shown her pictures of everything suggested so far.

I'm now getting a tinge of recollection about something. I think the room might have been black and white like in a geometrical sense, sort of chevrons and patterns.

Do you ever listen to the podcast the rest is entertainment? Marina Hyde and Richard Osman are on it and they have a fantastic memory for movies. Once a week they do a Q&A session and this is exactly the sort of thing I can imagine them enjoying thinking about.Why not give it a go?
