I’ve been using this over the past week or two, to remove the last of the cleanser and make-up residue from my face. My skin has never looked clearer. I don’t normally respond super well to anything, so it’s very noticeable!
Maybe it’s just a fluke (though I haven’t made any other changes) but as it was only about £1.50, it’s probably worth a shot.
Enjoy!

I worked in Boots over 20 years ago and their cucumber range always sold really well then! Never tried it myself but it must be good if it’s still being sold now.

Fruitlips · 20/09/2025 13:48

What did you use before this?

Zanzara · 20/09/2025 14:08

Good spot OP. They used to do an even better non fragranced range alongside this, I used the moisturising lotion for over thirty years. It was around a pound a pop back then, but often you could get it on three for two. Nowadays I'm eking out the last of my precious supplies, it just sinks into the skin without being greasy. Bring it back Boots please!!!

Just checked, I've got a bottle out here in Spain, I'll post a picture of it

Edited to add, I always used to says it was Boots' gift to the women of Britain.

What did you use before this?

No toner at all. Just micellar water on a cotton pad to cleanse my skin, followed by moisturiser.

I could have sworn they still do this!

I had a Saturday job in Boots from age 16 & that was nearly 50 years ago. Their cucumber range was sold there then and I loved it!

KelsCommemorativeSausage · 20/09/2025 14:13

Do you wash your face after toner? I'm very un fancy and only use soap and water and Cantu cocoa butter. Cucumber lotion sounds lovely though.

JMSA · 20/09/2025 14:22

No, I definitely wouldn’t wash it after toner. By then it’s clean 🙂

Ah so this is the first time you have used a cleanser… no wonder it’s making a different!

What are you talking about?
I’ve been using micellar water (cleanser) for years. The toner is the new thing.
Honestly, there’s always one misery on here!

I don't use a toner - but I will give that a try - thank OP!

Huh? Misery because I pointed that that never having used anything aside from micellar water before means that it’s not surprising that introducing a facial toner is going to result in an improvement.

next up… try a wipe off / rinse off cleanser, then the toner!

JMSA · 20/09/2025 19:09

Well, it’s a surprise to me that a £1.50 product could work to good effect!

I could have sworn they still do this!

I'll have a look, they certainly discontinued it. If it's back I'll be forever grateful!

Zanzara · 21/09/2025 10:24

I can see these two, which look like follow-ons from the old range, but not the moisturising lotion. However that's already a win and I'll keep looking. Thanks!

I've just found someone selling it on eBay under Essentials. I suspect it's been discontinued again or the packaging is changing. I've sticked up on - ahem - a few, but would be grateful for a heads up if anyone sees it in store. Thank you so much for starting this thread OP. 😊 💕

You’re very welcome! Looking at the Boots app, I can see only the cucumber moisturising lotion or the fragrance free moisturising cream. I reckon they’d be worth a punt. Or try Vinted too, as they have loads of toiletries.
Good luck! x

This is why I get annoyed when people say that you can get everything Boots sell cheaper somewhere else (online usually). A lot of their own brand stuff is really really good. There are some products I've used for years and no, you can't get them elsewhere.
