Drugs in care of child

Hi I’ve just had a message of a friend that my baby’s farther is in the pub with a bunch of sellers and on drugs while he’s supposed to be in the care of our newborn. What would be the next step for this if I don’t have photo proof. Can social services to drugs tests on weekends or would I have to wait to next week or would it be out if his system by then

Has he got the newborn with him?

padronpepper · 19/09/2025 22:49

Yes, where is your baby?

Bobbybobbins · 19/09/2025 22:51

Where is the baby? You could call the police if you are concerned for your baby’s safety

TheChristieAffair · 19/09/2025 22:52

Why is your newborn in a pub with their drug taking father? Are you going to get them?

KelsCommemorativeSausage · 19/09/2025 22:55

Go and get the baby.

ScurryfungeSpuddle · 19/09/2025 22:55

You're going to have to clarify.

Where is your newborn now and who are they with?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/09/2025 22:57

Where is the baby at the moment?

DramaLlamacchiato · 19/09/2025 22:57

Who’s got the baby?!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 19/09/2025 22:57

They can do hair strand drug tests going back months

PIPERHELLO · 19/09/2025 22:59

There are hair & nail tests for drugs which detect drug use over months.

go & get your baby. Report the dad. Report, report, report.

YouMightThinkThat · 19/09/2025 23:04

Just go get the baby. The tests can wait.

rewardh · 19/09/2025 23:04

Social services won’t do a drug test because you ask them to.

Emmarose01 · 19/09/2025 23:05

He must be with his parents as he lives with them but he will be going home to him I don’t know what to do as I’ve never been in this situation before. We also have social services involved due to his drug problems aswell

So the newborn isn’t in the pub? It’s in the care of their grandparents? Why did you let him take your new born?

MotherJessAndKittens · 19/09/2025 23:07

Get the friend to take photos. Call the police and get down there! What a wanker!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/09/2025 23:08

So why did you let him take your baby? How old is it?

Morningsleepin · 19/09/2025 23:08

If you haven't registered the baby yet, don't put that father on the birth cert

padronpepper · 19/09/2025 23:08

I’ve just read your other thread where he has told you he is giving the baby solids
Why has he contact with the baby?

ninjahamster · 19/09/2025 23:10

How old is your baby? If actually newborn, I cannot understand why you would not know where the baby is and why you would be allowing his parents to care for the baby at such an important time for bonding?
I would call his parents and tell them you are coming to get your baby.

Frogs88 · 19/09/2025 23:10

Firstly go and get your baby and then report. Why is a newborn staying with father/grandparents at all? Can’t he just visit baby at your house? A newborn should not be having overnight stays with others yet.

TSMWEL · 19/09/2025 23:11

Why is your newborn baby out of your sole care if there is SS involvement?

MotherJessAndKittens · 19/09/2025 23:11

Read your update. Still need friend to take photos for evidence. Still phone police and explain re drugs and SS. Then go and bring baby to you - don’t go alone!

Emmarose01 · 19/09/2025 23:11

He has him on weekends as he lives with him parents which was the plan made by social services. It wasn’t down to me him having him it was down to professionals but I don’t think he’s fit to be in charge. Sorry I shouldn’t of put newborn as he’s 3 month old but to me that’s still very young.

Going by your other thread, the baby is nearly four months old, so not a newborn.

Why does the baby go to a drug addict, three days a week?

Do you mean that SS decided that you couldn't have the baby every single weekend?
Why was that?
Have you got any other children?
