To think teenagers are judged far more harshly than adults who act the same way?

If an adult is moody or rude, they’re “having a bad day.” If a teenager does the same, they’re labelled difficult or disrespectful. AIBU to think teens are unfairly demonised?

I think because of the stresses of parenting/ life we forget we did the same things/ made the same mistakes etc and that they’re still essentially children really! And yes I think we act worse!!

I feel this way about social media sometimes. I see so many grown adults arguing in Facebook in comment sections, it’s pathetic! They’re so much worse than teenagers.

I think the opposite is true. Nobody says 'Oh they're just being an adult!' when adults are grumpy.

I do think we sometimes expect a lot of children. If someone in your workplace was insulting or hurting you daily they might get sacked, or contact police. If a child is bullying another child the other often has to just get on with it, see their attacker every day. Whilst still doing their best across up to 10 subjects etc.
