To think that money is bad for your karma?

People say that money is just a tool but I’ve noticed that the pursuit of wealth often leads to greed, selfishness, and a lack of compassion. It seems like the more obsessed someone is with making or keeping money, the worse their energy becomes. Even those who start with good intentions can get caught up in it. AIBU to think that money isn’t just neutral, it actually affects your karma in a negative way?

Have you got any personal experience/anecdotes to go along your ‘discussion point’ style post, threewordMNgeneratedusernameOP?

Crikey 😂

I haven’t had to sell my soul yet

The pursuit of wealth is different to having money (as a tool)... there lies the difference.

CalmHiker · 16/09/2025 13:43

Yes, because poor people are all saints and altruistic are they 😂

Absolutely agree.

you can solve this by giving all your money to me and I’ll take the bad karma

That is genuinely about 200% more interesting than any of this OP's tragically frequent namechanges and goady questions.

YABU. I feel much happier now DH and I are on better salaries. In fact, he’s got an interview for an even better paid job next week and I’m waiting to hear whether I’ve got an interview for a promotion. Having more money just makes life so much easier. Our current household income is £110k and if we both get promoted, it will be £133k. What’s not to like about that?
