DD aged 4 has just had one bout of diarrhoea about 10 mins ago but feels fine no other symptoms. Do I keep her off school tomorrow?

Yes, keep her off, for 2 days.

I'd wait to see if anymore happens as it might just be what shes ate

It’s been ten minutes so you have no idea if this is going to develop into something or not. I would understand if it was one bout yesterday morning and you were asking, but 10 minutes? Of course you keep her off.

The rule is 48 hours after sickness or diarrhoea to avoid spreading illness.

You really can’t tell what causes it, and you don’t know what vulnerabilities other people connected to the school may have - my sister ended up in hospital for 3 weeks because she was living with us when my son brought home a tummy bug, and the mum of his best friend subsequently admitted she’d sent her kid in after a bout of diarrhoea because she’d assumed it was something he ate.

TEN minutes ago? 😳

Leave it and see if it was a one-off as in just an upset stomach.

If not, you'll have your answer.

Se how she is overnight. 10 minutes is nothing.

I work in a school and earlier this year had a poor LO have an awful poo accident at school, he didnt make it to the toilet and there was a terrible mess all over him and the carpet, he was understandably very distressed. Turned out he'd had a bout the night before but nothing since so his parents thought it would be fine...not worth the risk at all never mind the potential to spread illness to other children. 48 hr rule is there for a reason.
