I think the Government needs to do more to stop tax evasion and make sure that the tax that people rightfully are due to pay is paid. Action is needed from closing loop holes that large corporations use to reduce their UK to clamping down on small business who use cash to avoid paying tax on their profits.

Change the rate at which self employed people have to charge vat. Vat should be charged all services not just where they are over £80k (or whatever the current level is)

If they are administering vat it will also affect how easily they can hide income.

I think that makes sense. It is relatively easy to account and report VAT these days so it wouldn't be much of a burden. It would also means that the difficult switching period for growth would disappear making it easier to scale.
