Highly insulated new build with heat pump? When do you put your heating on?

Posting here for traffic, we have moved into a new build and we have an air to water heat pump. We haven’t turned on the heating aspect of it yet as we moved in during the summer and there was no need. We still haven’t turned it on and I’m just wondering when should I turn it on? The house is still very warm. Do I just wait until I feel cold and then turn it on and leave it on as thats what I’ve been told is best to do? I’m so confused.

We leave ours on and let the thermostat kick in when it gets cold enough. It actually came on for the first time this morning. It’s more of a gradual heat than from a gas boiler, so I find it helps to keep the house reasonably warm rather than let it get too cold (then it can take a while to warm up).

But do you find your house actually gets cold because that’s my issue? The house is not cold… so I’m wondering, do I turn it on at all?🤣

It was starting to feel a bit cooler recently, but not much!
If you let the thermostat do the work, it just won’t kick in if your house isn’t cold enough.
