to think that people have the right to smoke without being villified as if they were using cocaine?

i'm a non smoker. make that a never smoker, apart form one incident when i was 13 and had a huge coughing fit.
i am really really shocked at how people are reacting towards people smoking. it is not the worst thing in the world, and i just feel really uncomfortable athow they are making smokers out to be pariahs.

None of the smokers I know would smoke under a bus shelter

ravenAK · 02/06/2008 01:11

I take mine to pubs - pity the beer gardens are so unpleasant these days, what with all those smokers being turfed out of the saloon

No, wasn't aimed at you, Pinky. Just making the point that if a particular area is designated for smokers then I'd keep my children away from it & have no problem with people enjoying their fags there.

thewiltedrose · 02/06/2008 01:11

Nobody i know would light up next to a pregnant woman

I love the way all smoker are put into a catergory of being selfish and killing people.

I dont do any of what has been said as dont all of the smokers i knnow!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 02/06/2008 01:12

Not a snob. nothing wrong with it. I just don't. You are very rude.

DirtySexyMummy · 02/06/2008 01:13

molesworth - I mainly smoke in the evenings because I work at night, and as I dont smoke around DS, I don't really tend to smoke during the day. But its force of circumstance rather than choice.

When I don't have him, and I am out, during the day, then yes I smoke.

There was a wink on the end so i dont think it was as nasty as it seems!

DirtySexyMummy · 02/06/2008 01:15

Pinky - it was a joke.

Nothing wrong with pubs though, strange thing to say that you just don't take them. Any reason?

i kill people regularly, pregnant women are my favourite but children, asthmatics and ferrets are equally as good - i seek them out and when i find them i light up -and they cannot move away - they are transfixed to the outdoor spot where they stand ( for no one can smoke indoors anymore)

hunkermunker · 02/06/2008 01:17

Bloody ferret-killer, Custardo. I knew it!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 02/06/2008 01:20

THW IME, people sometimes walk into the bus shelter smoking, I don't think they really think about it. I don't either, really. If they have the fag in the hand that sits right next to the pram, I ask them to move it away form my children, politely, they usually sat,oh sorry and move or put the fag out. I ask because on occasion my children have had ash flicked on them. People are often in a bit of a daydream at bus stops.

DirtySexyFerret · 02/06/2008 01:21

I am getting so sick of this.

Why the hell do you think ferrets deserve to die? What have ferrets ever done?

They don't even smoke either. Well, most of them don't.

Sneaky, stinky, nippy woozles?

You lot are evil..

Pruners - you are not going to the right places then. There are some beautiful beautiful country pubs in Scotland.

And some very child friendly city and town ones too.

where are you? I can probably tell you of nice country pubs in your area.

thewiltedrose · 02/06/2008 01:24

No money to drink
No money for fags
Just to sit And appreciate.
Ill do it for Pruner!

My daydreaming tends to take the form of absent mindedly singing along to my MP3 player, rather than casually flicking ash onto other people's children...

...maybe they should think about it. As in, not smoking in bus shelters. Fairly obvious that that's not an OK place to smoke.

Tortington · 02/06/2008 01:25

oh and in march the bloody ferret militants. can't have a decent convo on Mn without the bloody militant ferrets with the "what have we ever dont to you" crap

wha have you ever done FOR me

thats the question

nowt as bad as a bloody reformed ferret.

b*stards

Lots of nice cafes and restaurants where I live.

Used to enjoy sitting outside in the beer garden of our local with other breastfeeding mummy friends when DS was a baby, but it's a designated smoking area now.

Would rather spend sunny days in local parks where children can play.
