If you have to treat yourself to something nice

If you have to treat yourself to little something nice, what do you do?
I got myself some dark chocolate batons from hotel Chocolat and some nachos and salsa from M&S.
I totally love M&S food, but only go there to get some treats.
How about you?

I would love that but have got a baby in tow so, just managing with an audiobook.

I’m also living the audiobook life due to a toddler. I like to buy some fancy Waitrose burrata or stracciatella to have with some Isle of Wight tomatoes.

notnowfred · 10/09/2025 20:30

A cherry ice cream.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/09/2025 20:31

Wedge of brie, Wensleydale Stilton with cranberries, crackers and an apple for supper.
A bunch of flowers

Whipped soap from the Yorkshire Soap Company - I’m buying some on Friday for a little treat.

A book.

Flowers.

I agree on some nice M&S food.

A lovely loaf of sourdough.

louderthan · 10/09/2025 20:35

I’m another fan of buying myself supermarket flowers but I now have two young cats who destroy anything leafy that comes in the house. I’m more likely to buy treats or toys for them
than for myself 😂

This time of year - Pumpkin Spice latte which is a treat because a medium is SIX POUNDS FIFTY. Ahem.

In general - nice candle from Habitat or Lidl/Aldi (under a fiver), Fever Tree tonic to have a gin (normally I buy the cheap stuff), something from Champneys or Soap and Glory at Boots.

It's ridiculous I know, I tried pumpkin spice latte from Greggs with a toffee fudge muffin for £3.5, which I thought was reasonable.

Usually...lip gloss 😂 I own so many, it's my go to little treat to myself. That or a flavoured coffee and a sprinkly donut from Gregg's 😋

New paperback (better yet, a charity shop book purchase!), then an hour or so to read with a really good cup of coffee or a pot of tea in a comfy cafe chair. Failing that, an Audible audiobook, a small tray of baklava, or some old-school crumbly fudge.

Oh yes, crumbly fudge. You shouldn't be able to make model animals out of fudge in my opinion.

I like trying some of their nice seasonal coffee and bake flavours 😋

What the flip is whipped soap?! I do love soap, should have put that on my list above. Preferably rose scented but not with bits in. Fancy soap too often has petals or other crap in. I just want expensive natural spelling soap that feels treaty without twigs or berries or flakes of anything that’ll scratch my skin or clog up my bath plug.

If husband is away I treat myself to a cheap face mask a tray of sushi (which I have with salad and a little baguette) for tea and a mini bottle wine. Only happens once a month but I love it

AutumnAcorn · 10/09/2025 20:41

An apple crumble yoghurt from M&S
Rachel’s rice puddings
A book from a charity shop
A new bar of soap
Really nice jam/marmalade/curd.

I've just treated myself to a 6kg slam ball from Aldi, just under £10. I am so looking forward to using it tomorrow.

ADHDwifeHP · 10/09/2025 20:54

Macoys salt and vinegar crisps and some 80% Lindt chocolate 🤤

idontknowhowtodreamyourdreams · 10/09/2025 20:59

Toasted almond croissant from my favourite coffee shop while reading a book

5128gap · 10/09/2025 21:09

I like a pretty soft drink with an unlikely combination of ingredients and flower petals floating in it. Or a make up item that claims to give false lash or lip plumping effects. Or a serum that promises to be better than botox. Or anything a bit old school glam like a tiny mirror in a jewelled case, a lace hanky or some velvet gloves. Or a donut.

missymousey · 10/09/2025 21:09

Tiramisu from Sainsbury's (share a whole one with DH) and a bottle of rioja

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 10/09/2025 21:10

Yellow roses, and a nice bubble bath

Daytime treat with a tenner, £5 for getting something that brings me joy from a charity shop, and then when I’ve climbed the high street a coffee with my sketch pad on my own in my favourite coffee spot.
At home it’s an audiobook in the bath with candles and lights off, some chocolate and a can of Pimms!
