To eat reheated chicken curry made from defrosted raw chicken?

I defrosted raw chicken breasts last night and cooked them to make chicken curry with them. I had chicken curry for dinner last night. There was some left over, so I put it in the fridge. Is it safe to reheat in the microwave and eat it tonight?

Yes

I don't think how the raw meat was stored has any relevance to how long the cooked meat will last. So, overnight in the fridge, cooked - ok

Yes. If it’s been frozen raw, then defrosted and cooked it’s fine to reheat once. You could also freeze the curry.

Yes provided reheated to 74oC.

Cerialkiller · 10/09/2025 18:58

Yes, obviously make sure it's properly heated through as you should do with any meat products but you will be fine.

QuietLifeNoDrama · 10/09/2025 19:01

Yes as long as it’s hot all the way through

BuddyGiveOver · 10/09/2025 19:02

It's fine

Thank you, I thought that but when I went to put it in the microwave I suddenly panicked so thought I'd check! Eating it now Smile

I was told you can reheat once from frozen, once from cooked
