Crafting help

Hello
I'm trying to make some felt shapes (pumpkins with cut out eyes)
My scissors are too big, and my craft knife isn't cutting through. Am I missing something really obvious?
What do you guys use to cut small bits out of felt shapes so it looks crisp and clean?
Thanks for any help!

Nail scissors?!

Ooh could work. Have you tried this?
I think on very small cut outs I still wouldn't get a really sharp edge

Small bladed scissors are handy for this kind of thing. Make sure they are sharp! I start by making a hole in the middle of the area you want to cut out, it’s easier then to cut to the edges.

You can buy triangle hole punchers for crafting.

I don’t know how small the shapes are but try folding the felt and cutting the eyes at the fold…if you see what I mean. You could practise the shape of the eyes by cutting paper ones first.

I’d cut with the scissors fully open so the fabric is right in the join of the blades. I’m not explaining this very well!

You need to use the right scissors. I bought a Dunelm bundle (3pairs for about £4) and they’re great on fabric.

I have and it works! Stab with the curved pointy bit first to open up a starting point, then carefully cut out. Good luck!

You need fabric scissors. Even big ones will cut with accuracy. You could also consider a quilters rotary cutter.

embroidery scissors are small and sharp and may be what you need

Thanks all. Craft punch doesn't work..I have proper fabric scissors but they are too big. It's very delicate cut outs
Definitely get what you mean about folding @CoffeeCantata
I will look up embroidery scissors too.
