DH gift - WWYD?

DH has bought me jewellery for a big wedding anniversary. It’s costume jewellery and not my style at all, but it somehow cost quite a lot, despite not being gold or silver. I can’t see myself ever wearing it. Do I tell him and ask to exchange it for something more my style, or suck it up as it was a gift he chose for me?

I think I’d thank him but say it’s very different from what you normally wear. It’s a bit like underwear, very personal. It surprises me that he’s bought it presumably without asking you if you’d like it.

My husband has done that too “you didn’t have anything like this so I bought you something different” or “I didn’t buy you silver because you have loads already” and “I didn’t think you would want MORE Emma Bridgewater because you have loads already”
That’s the point my sweet darling idiot. I have lots because that’s what I like.

Id let him know that it isnt something you see yourself wearing, but you appreciate the effort, and then suggest exchanging it. You will be able to get a nice silver piece for £195.

From what I know of men, he would prefer you to be happy, and he's probably not emotionally attached to what he's chosen so wouldn't take it hard for you to tell him, men are normally pretty simple and a few years ago i was explained to that a bouquet of flowers were called legovers .
But you know your man.

I’d say otherwise it’s a waste of money

Yes say something. Surely he knows you well enough to know your taste. Did he buy it without putting thought into it.
