he was running away from me and I tried to grab the back of his jacket to stop him.

I didn’t think much of it, but he’s got a mark.He cried a bit but I just thought it was because I caught him and he wanted to keep running off and playing I don’t know if it was definitely me pulling him ghat caused it, but I feel absolutely terrible about it. It looks pretty bad.

I have never hurt my kids, by accident or on outside and I feel so shit about it.

should I mention it to nursery?

Much better to be open and upfront about it.
Just explain what happened. They might log it/get you to sign something but this is also to protect themselves to prove it is not an injury that happened in their care.

Yes I would tell them. Is it a bruise or a scratch or just a red mark? It will probably fade in a day or two. Try not to beat yourself up, if he was running away in the street, you had to grab him for his own safety.

I'd mention it, better to be upfront. Though reacting in an emergency to safeguard is a justifiable reason so please don't worry yourself!
