Am I the only one sick of the sun?

Just that really. Am I the only one sick of the heat and the sunshine now? I just want to put my leggings and jumpers on and get my boots out! Absolutely love a dark evening with the lamp and candles on snuggled under a blanket.

You’re being ridiculous and dramatic. It’s hardly hot at the moment and the evenings are already drawing in and feeling cooler. It’ll be winter soon enough!

ridiculous and dramatic because I have an opinion on something you don’t agree with? Ok! I’ll take a video and show you the sun if you like?

The sun is not beating down!

Maybe not where you are! We don’t all live in the same place!

ImAPreMadonna · 08/09/2025 13:51

No. I want the sun and warmth to last as long as possible.

I hate the rain and ‘living in a cloud’ for 5 months. I too want to keep drying my washing outside and wearing fewer layers.

And I bloody hate hot chocolate.

It was boiling yesterday in the south, my car temperature said 29 degrees.

Even my mum who has the gas fire on in May was boiling yesterday.

springissprung2025 · 08/09/2025 13:52

I’m in SE and it was 25 degrees yesterday. Today it’s about 22. I love it

Oh god, we didn’t even get to the end of the op without the word “snuggle” being used!

No, I’m not sick of getting up in the light and walking to work and back when it’s light. No, I am not sick of being able to just walk out the door without 15 layers of clothes. No, I am not sick of being able to sit out after work. No, I am not sick of getting enough fresh air for my mental health and enjoyment without dodging downpours and puddles.

We have enough dark and damp Weather in the UK. Don’t wish it on us any sooner than necessary.

Yea I do like to snuggle under a blanket with my children, is that ok? Sorry I didn’t realise I’d used such an insulting word.

I very much doubt anywhere in the UK has the sun beating down right now. And FWIW, I live in the SE.

smileymylie25 · 08/09/2025 13:48

Exactly you don’t know where I am so putting beating down in inverted commas twice, insinuating that I’m exaggerating is a bit much don’t you think?
enjoy your mild sunshine.

Because unless you’re in Seville or something it seems unlikely that “beating down” is an accurate description!

I’m in the south too and yesterday was warm. It was not boiling. Cars often show higher temps initially.

Yes

You’re touchy for someone who has started a controversial op aren’t you? Not everyone agrees with you!

The word snuggle makes my flesh creep. It’s in the same bracket as non-nom and moist for me. And it is always ALWAYS used on threads like this (which are almost daily from May to September) to justify why some people can’t wait for the weather to get cold and damp and grey.

Temperatures differ, even in the South. Where I am was hot yesterday, not just warm.

TheDandyLion · 08/09/2025 14:08

What sun? We've had thunder and lightening all afternoon and it rained most of last week.

DinoLil · 08/09/2025 14:10

I'm with you, @smileymylie25!

Doggo and I snuggled under a throw last night, watching TV. Incense stick on the go, candles lit. I was in my happiest of happy places!

jettisoned · 08/09/2025 14:10

It's warm here but not hot in the southwest, good for drying clothes but... it's not even autumn yet 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree with OP on the weather, the sun certainly was beating down for a few hours yesterday, I was glad I slapped the factor 50 on my mug.

Flakey99 · 08/09/2025 14:11

It’s been a nice summer here but temperatures haven’t gone above 24°c and mostly averaged around 19°c. We’ve still had a fair amount of rain as usual.

I’m desperate for it to not rain too much over the next couple of weeks as I want the outside of my house painting.

I agree on the word 'snuggle'.

Yesterday was beach weather though.

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 08/09/2025 14:13

I could never be sick of the sun. Who enjoys being freezing bloody cold. Makes no sense to me.

placemats · 08/09/2025 14:13

I look forward to apricity during the dark winter months. Usually end of December/beginning of January. Such a lovely hopeful feeling.

ilovesooty · 08/09/2025 14:15

Well never mind. You'll soon be able to do snuggling and cosy to your heart's content. Meanwhile some of us are enjoying the last bit of summer. It's quite nice here today but it was dull and rainy yesterday, which I fully expect to continue from tomorrow. I hate Autumn and winter.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 08/09/2025 14:21

I'll put my hands up and admit I'm the first to complain about the sun, and equally the first person to complain about the bloody cold too.

I get really bad migraines from the sun, but having some transitions lenses put in my glasses has been an absolute game changer this year and now I'm a bit gutted about the change in seasons.

coxesorangepippin · 08/09/2025 14:34

Oh yeah

I wore my boots yesterday, heaven

Well, you wouldn’t be alive without it. So yes, you’re being unreasonable unless you are a nihilist.

Some people cant go out in the sun.
Its called photosensitivity also xp some have it from mild to server i know because i have it mildly.
When your day is coming to an end a lot of other peoples days just starting.
