I am 52 - using the contraceptive implant - not had periods since I started using it.

So as I don't have periods - I can't say if they have slowed down or stopped.

I am still sexually active.

So I may have gone past menopause - but I am now bleeding - have been for over a week - I know post menopausal bleeding should be investigated - but I cannot say with any accuracy when my last period was - I have been on the implant 17 years.

We can’t really call this postmenopausal bleeding so I would investigate as an unexpected bleed - may be related to your implant. When is it due to be changed?

I’d suggest making an appointment to discuss and they may send you for a scan, do some swabs, suggest a slightly early implant change if all normal.

Actually my implant is due to be changed next month, so maybe it is just running out of hormones? Never thought of that thank you.
