Can anyone else relate and was it a phase or is there something I should be doing to help him more? He has been like this since about 14 months (now 2.5)
He loves water and the bath but hates swimming pools as there are other toddlers in the pool
He loves soft play or the park but will scream if a child is in his space, he will take it in turns with other kids but acts petrified of them if they go near him.
Will cry even if a little baby is near him or crawls up to him.
He acts absolutely terrified, but loves being around adults.
He has no siblings and I took him to many baby groups up until 18 months. Now we go to soft play, the park, play dates, the odd toddler group on a regular basis. He is not around children every day but about 5-6 times a month.
He starts nursery in a few weeks and I’m a bit anxious about it to be honest.
