You can’t change what’s done. Is it your first cold sore?

Not the point of the thread but Compeed cold sore patches are great. They really speed up the healing time - definitely recommend.

Relax! You can't isolate or not touch anyone just for having a coldsore.

I get them very frequently and just remember to try to avoid rubbing my lips on people 🤣

If you didn’t kiss or cuddle the baby, and they didn’t come into contact with your face then the chances of passing it on will be low. However I’d let the parents know so that they can be vigilant and look out for any signs. If they do see anything they’re concerned about then they should seek immediate medical advice.

Coldsores can be extremely dangerous for babies so ideally, you should not be holding/touching a baby when you have an active coldsore.
Obviously if it’s your own baby it is largely unavoidable! I had a horrific outbreak when one of mine was a few months old (I get them when exhausted/run down) and had to be so careful.

It'll be fine op the main risk is kissing or touching it then touching someone else without washing hands etc.

It'll be vanishingly unlikely you've passed it on in your situation.
