What has Hollywood done to Wuthering Heights?

The new film looks pretty much ghastly in every possible way.
Nothing to do whatsoever with the original book. I don't think it's right they've actually used the title Wuthering Heights for the film.

I wonder if it's portrayed the dark harshness of the novel, perhaps if it's encourages people to read the book it's a success regardless.
I really enjoyed the life of Chuck in the cinema and will now read the story.

The are putting the title in scare quotes so it’s “Wuthering Heights”

they seem to have pornified it from looking at the trailer

I’ve seen some theories that it’s a reader of the book imagining themselves into the story. The quote marks suggest it’s not a faithful retelling, and we know Emerald Fennell likes to go rogue. I wouldn’t go expecting to see a standard period version.
