I’m centrist and would say that it’s the Lefties that are FAR more insulting, calling everyone who queries immigration levels as a Racist.

They say that it’s possible to have a “reasoned” discussion about immigration, but bat down any suggestions that it’s at too high a level with the R word.

I just think it’s going to all go horribly wrong… the UK will struggle in terms of infrastructure and integration and the thugs will become emboldened.

FWIW I think that 20 years ago, Britain was a far nicer and more culturally cohesive and accepting place to live in.

Think you are misunderstanding what I am saying here. It isn't really a thread to discuss the government - in fact the first couple of posts on the latest thread ask for people who don't hold the same views to stay away. Many angry posts, disinformation. people who dare to share a different view being shouted down..many of the same individuals posting over and over again..do these people not have lives, why do they constantly post on MN?

One thing I don’t really get is what the right-wing are actually expecting to happen?

Labour have already committed to ending the use of hotels and HMOs for asylum seekers, reopened dialogue with Europe on migration and are trialling schemes which may or may not work, pledged to invest in border security and started making changes to existing legislation. In just a year they’ve made asylum processing more efficient, deportations are up and net migration has halved.

But then it’s easy to ignore reality when the main media outlets in this country spend every waking moment telling us how awful everything is and how the only solution is to hand over more of our rights to a man in the pocket of the billionaire robber barons.

It feels like a lot of people on the right just want every asylum seeker, or anyone with brown skin, rounded up and thrown out of the country tomorrow tbh.
