America had one of the first sex offender registration. Weird that you think we wouldn't have one. I totally agree that the mother should be on the list. However, thankfully everyone knows what she did so she's always going to be under a microscope.

I'm not American so I don't know about your laws
I was asking not assuming.

Coffeetime25 · 21/09/2025 07:28

watched it was shocking could not understand why the mother was aloud to be included in the documentary and it was just palmed off as ah well she did it problem solved that poor kid what she went through was shocking

She needs to be on the sex offenders register for the texts about a child! She proved this was about her obsession and sexual desires for him when she started messaging his new girlfriends family.

Exactly, not a chance had it been one of the dads, they wouldn't have been let off so easily or given such sympathy from some.

Allowed? Strange use of the word as it implies Kendra benefitted from appearing when in actually she was totally vilified. I think any right thinking person would have changed their name, engaged in extreme plastic surgery and moved to a remote island to avoid being recognised rather than take part in. Netflix documentary. I think her participation made the whole documentary much more impactful. I think seeing her trying to justify the unjustifiable and showing a complete lack of self awareness is actually the thing that made this documentary so shocking.

How was she vilified? Her behaviour spoke for itself, she needed no editing or producer interference in order to make her seem ‘worse’. Her behaviour was unhinged and abhorrent. She vilified herself by being the perpetrator.

She is a narcissistic, of course she ‘benefitted’ from the documentary in the sense that it gives her the attention she so desperately craves. I only hope her daughter is able to disentangle herself from this toxic enmeshment and start to heal.

I totally agree with you. Her words spoke for themselves. I’ve seen people saying that she was given an easy ride on the documentary and should have been challenged more but I think it would have devalued it if it turned into a Jeremy Kyle shouting match.

I mean she has been vilified on line and in the media. You will never seen one word of support for her online and as far as I’m aware she hasn’t been on the talk show circuit so assume now she sees how she is viewed and no one is on her side.

but by allowing her to participate it sends message to the kid that this is ok thing for a mother to do if the dad did this he would be in prison and not aloud to participate but the mum did o it fine she has mh probs no harm done all fine

Notdirtyjustsick · 21/09/2025 18:14

Watching it and the documentary’s end reminded me of a post on here years ago when someone’s child was receiving messages from their friend and it turned out to be the mother of said friend. I often wondered what happened with that story

It really doesn't. She got a five year prison sentence and and was allowed out after 19 months and presumably serves the rest of her sentence in the community with whatever restrictions that includes. If it was the Dad there is nothing which would say he was not allowed to participate in the documentary. In America it's not unusual for inmates to be filmed whilst inside prison anyway if the prison allows it even if they haven't been released. By allowing Kendra to take part it shows her for what she is and, as I say, is much more impactive than not showing her face or hearing her words come out of her own mouth.

We may not agree with the leniency of the sentence and the fact she is not on the sex offenders register but there is nothing to say a convicted criminal is not allowed to take part in a documentary.

so what she did to the kid is fine she did half her sentence and all good no harm done then sorry but no I still think this is all wrong and she should not have bin aloud to participate in this documentary and she should be on the so register

No of course it isn’t fine obviously. No one is saying that. Her appearing on the documentary has probably adversely affected her more going forward that just doing a prison sentence where no one saw her speak. You seem to think taking part in a documentary is some sort of honour but it really isn’t. She’s just shown herself to be a complete narcissist.
