AIBU to wonder why supermarkets don't do those free sample stalls anymore?

Does anyone remember when supermarkets used to give out free samples, especially for new products. There would be someone behind a temporary stand giving out free chocolate or anything edible really.

It's been years since I saw this. Why don't they do it anymore

our local farm shop had a big tray of jams and preserves with crackers to test. them. Some of the preserves had a big kick like the chutneys and some had a lot of alcohol in!

They have them in my local Sainsburys quite regularly.

They still do at Sainsbury's near me. Got given a Lindt hazelnut chocolate wafer thing the other week.
