Anyone else skint? Or just me?

I thought we were ALL skint!

Katemax82 · 01/09/2025 14:20

Yep. It's the last few days before payday Friday and my husband and I have 51 pounds between us. Luckily we bulk buy nappies, fairy liquid bog roll etc but it's a bit lame knowing we can't really spend anything. I had 100 pounds this morning and had to buy my daughter's school shoes and enough food for a family of 5 to last till Friday. Lame

Do you live under a rock?! 😀

ComfortFoodCafe · 01/09/2025 14:59

Yep paid my bills, did a food shop & a school uniform shop now im skint. Roll on 29 days 😂

MYOB12 · 01/09/2025 15:06

School holidays/days out/visiting adult kids has cost me a fortune. I know I didn’t have to but fed up of not doing anything with DC. 2.5 weeks to payday…..

Wishimaywishimight · 01/09/2025 15:09

Of course it's not just you but nor is it everyone (obviously!).

rainbowprincesschapell · 01/09/2025 15:11

perpetually :(

MonsterasEverywhere · 01/09/2025 15:14

It feels like most people are skint, most of the time. Whether or not that is down to high costs/poor budgeting/overspending is an entirely different matter.

I know I'm skint, but then I'm disabled and unable to work at present due to complications from lifelong health issues.

catgirl1976 · 01/09/2025 15:15

Always

MegaMinion34 · 01/09/2025 15:26

Yup. Got paid last Wednesday and most of it is gone already. Whoopee.

NOresponsibility · 01/09/2025 15:50

Nope not me.

LittlleMy · 01/09/2025 15:53

Trying to budget and went to pick up my prescription I have to pay for and the GP had ordered me 3 boxes of anti histamines EXACTLY the same as in Savers that’s sells them for £2 a box so declined to pick them up. Was so embarrassing as was huge queue as always but hey ho £3.90 saved woohoo!

EmeraldShamrock000 · 01/09/2025 15:58

Not totally, doing a little better than usual, I don't get paid again until the 26th.
I'll be broke the week before.
