Live abroad is tourist/beach area, bit strapped for cash but want a weekend somewhere else mid September. It will still be warm/hot where we are, we have one 6 year old girl.

Either:

Two night stay at a campsite with pool in a cabin in pine trees with hammock, bbq etc-self catering/restaurants, beach nearby. This is around 1.5 hours drive away.

Or

Weekend stay- one night at hotel with kids pools, kids club, restaurants, sea view, terrace etc, also around 1.5 hours away but in the neighbouring country-so different culture, food…we have all been to this country numerous times already

2 nights in a cabin every time!

Cant vote with the way you've posed the question but I'd go for option A. Sounds more peaceful and one night away is too short.

Cabin in the woods for me, my DC would have an excellent time in the woods and on the beach and two nights is far better than all that packing and travelling for just one night.

2 nights over 1 every time!

I agree two nights is better, but the other place is by the beach too and we live by the beach so that’s not much different. Camping woods part sounds fun, pool is ok there, pools at hotel much better and there’s a kids club 🤔

Asking 6 year old, she says the hotel?! Quite surprised by that tbh, I thought the cabin would be more fun for kids maybe
