  1. In Iceland
  2. In Hungary
  3. With rules compelling nakedness (ideally with noone being naked but I'm a realist so just somewhere I can keep my swimming costume on and eyes lowered is great)

Switzerland

AthenaWhite · 31/08/2025 15:18

There is one in Bath in the UK. A rooftop spa.

ShodAndShadySenators · 31/08/2025 15:20

I'm fairly sure there's one on Kos in Greece, on the south coast of the island. We did visit it a loooong time ago though. But it's not large like in Iceland

HuckleberryBlackcurrant · 31/08/2025 15:20

I live in Idaho, the state has the highest number of natural hot springs of any state! If you're ever in the Western US, Idaho is beautiful and often overlooked!

Lava Hot Springs is probably the most famous but there are so many.

Melassa · 31/08/2025 15:21

Sirmione, Lake Garda
Saturnia, Tuscany

Octavia64 · 31/08/2025 15:22

Greece.

how hot do you want?

there’s one just outside Athens but it’s not mega hot.

Rotorua New Zealand which is mega hot.

Matlock bath in the U.K. (also not mega hot)

Fragmentedbrain · 31/08/2025 15:23

These all sound great! Where is good in Switzerland?

I don't need it to be too hot it's more for the minerals in the water.

Zakopane in Poland. Very busy in summer, though.

FunnyOrca · 31/08/2025 15:26

Borjomi, Georgia

iirc everyone had a swimsuit? Also in a national park with plenty of day hiking or overnight hiking options. The food is unparalleled!

Game0fCrones · 31/08/2025 15:27

Do NOT go the Bath Spa, it's so over crowded and you only get half an hour and people line up, staring at you, waiting for you to get out.

MissyB1 · 31/08/2025 15:27

Question, do they all stink of sulphur? I’ve only been to the NZ Rotorua one - stinky!!

MyElatedUmberFinch · 31/08/2025 15:28

Tombola Talasso Tuscany.

You reminded me of one I went to in Spain - Baños de Hedionda; where Julius Caesar himself once bathed. It is hard to find, free to enter (almost abandoned) and stank of sulphur! Great for your skin though and lovely warm water.

Sounds like an awful experience but not reflective of my own. I live quite close and have been a few times, have had a lovely time.

The Peninsula Hot Springs in Victoria, Australia. My happy place. ☺️

What’s the issue with Iceland?

is the Matlock bath one.

some of the Iceland ones can be lovely. These springs by the Landmannalaugur campsite are amazing. It’s very touristy and people tend to keep swimsuits on. You’ll need a 4 wheel drive to get there though.

this is really nice although a bit of a drive.

No issue it's just that's one of the two everyone recommends immediately(the other being Budapest) and I'm looking for something else

Baden Baden

Wait it has never previously occurred to me that Baden Baden has baths 😂

Isn't it into nudity, though?

Wait is this a bit?

Vita Classica in Bad Krozingen is naturally heated and mineral rich - but it's Germany so someone will be naked in the spa, guaranteed.
