How the fuck are you meant to deal with them ? They grow at a massive speed!! 3 x a week im plucking the bastards out. I’m 34 and frankly this is ridiculous. it’s going to get worse and honestly I cba dealing with them but I will become the bearded lady if I don’t pluck them out and don’t even get me started on the lip hairs!

YABU, chin hairs are absolute massive bloody bastards but you are only plucking them three times a week!!! Give it until 45 and you will look back on these days fondly as you get your second favourite pair of tweezers out of your handbag to pluck a spikey little fucker out using the car rear view mirror for the third time in a day.

Absolute shitty arsed wanky fucking bastard chin hairs.

lucya66 · 01/09/2025 21:12

I love it. I tweeze every evening while watching tv.

FortuneFaded · 01/09/2025 21:14

TwoFacedBessie · 01/09/2025 21:02

Oh fuck no, I trim the areola hair with scissors. Tweezers are not going anywhere near the tit area.

I am not sure what I can do with them. I can’t see them as they are grey and barely visible but I know they are there.

CuriousKiteFlyer · 01/09/2025 21:41

Any recommendations for really good tweezers? I have been disappointed with the grip and lack of precision on every pair I've tried so far. It would be good to have some that can get the really short hairs when they are just coming through.

I have car tweezers too because I noticed 2 chin hairs enroute to work one day and I had to stop and get tweezers to pluck them out before I could start.

ive told my dd is I ever end up in hospital my chin hairs are her priority!

My mum sadly has dementia and is in a carehome but we keep on top of her lip/ chin hair
with one of those mini razor things Painless, safe and only takes a minute. She would have HATED it if we let it grow

I hated PCOS chin hairs. I’m starting to get tit hairs now. Like areola eyebrows ffs.
I used my Phillips Lumea which works very well, except on the thick white ones which I pluck. One thick wiry white hair is always in growing and creates a lump. I need to have patience to cut if off and allow the skin around it to heal.

Tit hairs and areola eyebrows i’m dead 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Createausername1970 · 01/09/2025 22:17

You wait till you get to 60.

I no longer need to shave pits or bits, there is nothing left there to worry about, it has all rerouted to my chin!

ElsaLing · 01/09/2025 22:23

Has anyone successfully dealt with chin hair so bad it needs to be shaved every day? Is electrolysis the best option?

Showdogworkingdog · 01/09/2025 22:28

I’m 52 and for years I’ve lay in bed at night, plucking away at my lil goatee with a pair of tweezers, it was v satisfying. But then I noticed they were getting thicker and wirier and some are even black, despite my being a natural ginger. So last year I took myself along to a salon to ask about permanent removal. Initially I tried laser treatment but it cost a fortune (£90 a go), hurts like buggery and only works on darker hairs. So I switched to electrolysis which costs £30 every 2-3 weeks. It’ll take about a year before they’re gone and then maybe a few goes a year maintenance. Therapist says there’s no better way to make your chin hairs grow thicker and faster than plucking them, so yay. They are definitely less prolific now, I had my last session last Thursday and as I sit here stroking my chin, I can’t feel any yet so that’s progress. Meanwhile my proper hair is getting finer and thinner at the front, perhaps I should try plucking at that.

PeonyPatch · 01/09/2025 22:32

Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal solution unfortunately

Starling7 · 01/09/2025 22:34

I just have one small one which my last boyfriend tried to bully me over saying it was disgusting and laughing at me. I keep this little hair unplucked with pride, in an attempt to ward off any similar eejits

Same here! 63.

I haven't had to pluck my eyebrows for years. All the bastard hairs have gone to my chin.

I used facial hair remover every so often and pluck the big buggers.

It's just one of life's little jokes that the need for this facial scrutiny develops just when the eyesight is deteriorating. I have to get my reading glasses on and use the magnifying side of the mirror to see what I am doing.

Are they dark? Mine started a year ago at 42, I bought an IPL machine at 43 and they’re gone. I bloody love the machine - I shave my armpits about once a fortnight since using it and legs only need shaving once a week (could go longer but I like them very smooth). Wish I’d bought one years ago but probably couldn’t have justified the cost. Chin hairs pushed my to it.

Which IPL machine did you get?

valentinka31 · 01/09/2025 22:46

You simply go and have a lip and chin wax (the hot wax, not strips) every couple of weeks. It will all be fine then.

😂😂

All so true!

And somehow my DH never notices either! I have told him not to let me leave the house looking like ZZ Top, but does he notice? No, he does not 😂

greenismyfavouritecolour · 01/09/2025 22:46

I could have written this, so thank you! 34 with a hairy chin

Oh what is worse is when they do notice. But not until you are out and about and can't do anything about it.

Either tell me these things before we leave the house so I can do something about it, or keep schtumm until we get home so I don't spend the rest of the outing feeling self conscious

A Braun one. It was half price but still just under £500 - this was a massive splurge for me but fuck chin hairs. Dh was very kind about it.

if my DH has noticed he has never said. I carry tweezers and a razor in my bag at all times though.

With electrolysis do you have to let them grow unhindered between treatments?

Because that would be awful for me.... mine are so obvious after one day.

SophieJo · 02/09/2025 05:59

‘I'm 56 & they have migrated from the south to the north!’

I’m the same. My legs are now bare which is some consolation.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 02/09/2025 06:23

Lumea is the only way to go, I'm afraid. I bought one about 6 years ago and no longer have to worry about legs, bikini line, underarm or upper lip in years. It's worked wonders on my chin too, though I still get the occasional hair. Waxing or tweezing is all very well but it's those days when you can feel the hair cimg through but it isn't long enough to wax or tweeze that used to bug me the most!

As a PP said, do it while the hairs are still dark. Once they go white then IPL won't work.

whyisnothingsimple · 31/08/2025 00:35

A facial epilator - over time they get less and less - now have to use it every couple of weeks - mine’s a Braun

I bought one after reading your comment and good heavens it is an amazing tool. Thank you!

Bimblebombles · 02/09/2025 10:05

I've had laser sessions and it's completely changed my life - it was getting to the point where I was plucking multiple times a day and I couldn't do it anymore!

It didn't cost the earth either - £40 per session for the chin / neck area and the cost spreads really as the sessions are only every month initially then every 8 weeks currently. Its made such a huge difference.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 02/09/2025 10:08

Just don’t be like me. - more than once I’ve been in the car, going somewhere nice, before realising that there’s a big bastard waving about on my chin - and I haven’t got any tweezers in my bag.

I’ve never been able to pull them out without.
