How the fuck are you meant to deal with them ? They grow at a massive speed!! 3 x a week im plucking the bastards out. I’m 34 and frankly this is ridiculous. it’s going to get worse and honestly I cba dealing with them but I will become the bearded lady if I don’t pluck them out and don’t even get me started on the lip hairs!

I’ve got one of those JML hair remover things, which is great.

Having said that, it’s very satisfying to pluck the hairs with a pair of tweezers.

It does hurt! But it's only seconds & it's SO good to be minus the grey shadow above the corners of my mouth.

I had to remind myself if this today when it was hurting SO much.

can I not just grow it & plait it?

Wallywobbles · 31/08/2025 10:12

Get them lazered before they turn white and you’re stuck with them.

I'm tempted, just not sure who/where to use? (Well to find out the cost first?)

how long does it take to be rid of them?

Bizarre, you got me fondling my face. Thankful not to be a hairy person rn

I wasn't either, then one day they just started randomly sprouting, then bringing friends to the party...

I have one random coarse chin hair. Love plucking it. My upper lip I wax easily myself with strips.

I'm couldn't. It hurts too much & I can't inflict that much pain on myself

GreorgiePorgyPuddingandPie · 01/09/2025 19:39

I pluck from the chin & never go anywhere without mirror & tweezers. Skin sometimes goes lumpy. Occasionally pluck a lip one if its quite long but quite often get a bic razor on the long ones. It hurts so much to pluck above the lip!
Ive got dark hairs on one side where a man would have sideboards. Luckily my hair mostly covers it. Would like to know the best way to get rid of them though. Am a bit wary of shaving them in case they grow back thicker & coarser like a man's.

Yesidoactually · 01/09/2025 19:47

Wait until you find your first CHEEK hair. DP thought I had an eyelash on my cheek and thoughtfully tried to brush it away. No. It was a bastard cheek hair, about 2cm long that had appeared overnight.

Isobel201 · 01/09/2025 19:51

PCOS and combination of dark hairs make it worse. I manually shave in the shower, couldn't do anything like plucking. Used to use hair removal cream, but I find shaving is faster.

saltinesandcoffeecups · 01/09/2025 19:51

I call them goat hairs. Yeah they’re a lot of fun.

Vegalyra · 01/09/2025 19:55

I feel your pain. Never had a problem until a year or so ago 😞

However, I’ve started using an IPL device and it really works. It’s been a month and I haven’t had to pluck any spiky chin hairs.

Overtheatlantic · 01/09/2025 19:59

I recently had a dark one actually hiding in a marionette wrinkle. It was fully formed and wily when it emerged but I’m an experienced tweezerer at this stage in life.

Yes! I have car tweezers now as I’m driving along and find another fucking hair!! It’s the really thick ones too. I can’t laser them off because I’m ginger and it doesn’t work on my hair sadly but I could try threading however I’m such a coward when it comes to pain! I can cope with eyebrow threading and lip hair is a step above! Why does it hurt so much??

I have car tweezers too because I noticed 2 chin hairs enroute to work one day and I had to stop and get tweezers to pluck them out before I could start.

ive told my dd is I ever end up in hospital my chin hairs are her priority!

Pengane · 01/09/2025 20:24

I shave my chin and upper lip with a razor in the morning daily, when washing my face

AlertEagle · 01/09/2025 20:28

I started having darker chin hairs once I started removing my facial hair ( silly me you could barely see any hair) now I have to do it and probably in 10-15 years time I will have a proper beard 😂

soupyspoon · 01/09/2025 20:29

Ive used everything over the years, electrolisis, lazer, shaving, plucking, waxing bleaching, epilator. The problem is that none of the so called permanent methods have been permanent and the other methods sometimes work, soemtimes not, I cant always see them, eyesight not great also the hair seems to sit there like a black lump for ages before growing through, Ive got tons of that on my chin now. One minute they're black then they're white, one minute they're white, then they're black. Ive got impressive sideburns too. Horrible moustache.

Nicedayatlibrary · 01/09/2025 20:29

I thought I looked nice for work today. Made a real effort. Then this evening I took a photo with the flash on and zoomed in and omg there are hairs sprouting from my upper lip that I couldn't see in the mirror this morning. That's my plan for tonight - plucking 😂

It’s bloody awful isn’t it?? When I was 17 in sixth form this guy who I vaguely knew literally pulled my one chin hair out in front of all my friends with his nails. I nearly died inside

When I was 14 I was going out with a 22 year old(1986) he just looked at me and said why have you got a beard. Made me totally paranoid. I finished it.
I obviously should have said why are you dating a teenager but to be honest I was more mature than him.

I used to have it waxed but just don't have time. I have a Nair product that takes 2 mins and I find that most convenient for me can use twice a week if I need to or every 5 days. I pluck the odd one out in between.

TeenLifeMum · 01/09/2025 20:31

Are they dark? Mine started a year ago at 42, I bought an IPL machine at 43 and they’re gone. I bloody love the machine - I shave my armpits about once a fortnight since using it and legs only need shaving once a week (could go longer but I like them very smooth). Wish I’d bought one years ago but probably couldn’t have justified the cost. Chin hairs pushed my to it.

LittleArithmetics · 01/09/2025 20:31

I suffered for years with this, my skin was terrible from plucking. Finally bit the bullet and got electrolysis, it's been life changing and I wish I'd done it sooner.

Crategate · 01/09/2025 20:34

I was wondering if I mascarared the white ones whether the laser would still work?

DuringDinnerMints · 01/09/2025 20:41

If you'd rather avoid pain, I use a Finishing Touch Flawless Face, basically a little electric shaver. It doesn't last as long as plucking but it's quick and pain free, plus it's good for peach fuzz.

Thatfluff · 01/09/2025 20:48

I get really wiry ones coming out of one spot. They are stiff and bristly. Got so much harder to tweeze out since I’ve been taking collagen!

I know! I get my upper lip waxed/threading for the hairs missed lol, it kills my eyes are streaming at the end, i would have it lasered as I am a good candidate apparently. But I have a mole there so they can’t do it, unless I remove it, which is more time money effort.

For your chin i would say a good little epilator pen should help. I have a Braun one but it played up from the start, despite sending it off to be looked at whilst it was under warranty.
But it is battery powered which I regret, because with electrical items I always find chargeable is better.

WickedElpheba · 01/09/2025 20:59

Yes and I have black hair so they and thick and black

occasionaly I'm out and notice one and am mortified

i pluck them and they seemed to have slowed down

I hated PCOS chin hairs. I’m starting to get tit hairs now. Like areola eyebrows ffs.
I used my Phillips Lumea which works very well, except on the thick white ones which I pluck. One thick wiry white hair is always in growing and creates a lump. I need to have patience to cut if off and allow the skin around it to heal.

No Way Reaction GIF

Oh fuck no, I trim the areola hair with scissors. Tweezers are not going anywhere near the tit area.
