I bought a set of six mugs from Vinted. They arrived from the seller in their original box. There were cardboard inserts between the mugs but no bubble wrap or even paper was used to wrap each mug. One was smashed on arrival.
The other 5 are lovely and in perfect condition. I messaged the seller telling them and asking if they knew what would happen as thought the seller still deserved something for the 5 which are ok. It didn’t look like the message had been sent. Reading Vinted’s website I got the impression the seller would still get the money if they were damaged in transit so I raised an issue saying damaged in transit.
It now appears the message did get sent and the seller then suggested I pay 3/4 of the money. Before I saw that I got a notification of a full refund and a message from the seller that they had refunded me. The money is not yet back on my card but seems to be in progress.
I feel bad the seller will apparently get nothing now and I have 5 nice mugs. I can even find the mugs online and buy a new one to make a set of 6 for about the amount I am being refunded. Should I send the seller something for the 5 that arrived intact and can I even do that via Vinted? We are talking under £10 that the seller suggested so it’s more a moral question. Or, given that they weren’t particularly well packaged, should I just leave good feedback and leave it at that as I have the hassle now of trying to get the 6th mug and it might be the exact same colour.
