...my DP saying to me "don't get fat". I mean, ok, so I don't intend to put on 3 stone or something. But surely isn't this the type of thought one keeps to themselves? And no, I wouldn't mind if he put on a bit of weight, because I think there is more to him than looks.

I feel slightly put out actually. Is that all I have to offer then? (which aint much cos I am no supermodel)

yes he is being a prat. what if you discovered you had some terrible condition that made you put on loads of weight, or lost a limb ? What would he do then?

he may be concerned about your health if you were to get fat...but it sounds like its vanity and embarressment to me.

The way I see it if I sat down with four sandwiches, three packets of crisps a handful of doughnuts and a kilo of chocolate and DP said to me 'Don't get fat' fine.

If I was a gym bunny and said I wanted to stop going as much to spend more time with the kids and he said 'Don't get fat' not fine.

So we need more of the story.
