Hello can someone please help me out as I’m losing my mind I rang DLA they told me they made a decision on August 23rd which is a Saturday and now it’s the following Friday 29th August I rang twice will not tell me outcome I haven’t received anything should I take it as a no? Anyone else waited longer than 5 working days for a payment my friend applied for her 1 year old son 2 weeks after me and received payment today Thankyou!!

I know it can take fucking ages ..you would probably get the money in your bank before the decision letter. If you are not happy submit a mandatory reconstruction immediately. I did and got my son from low rate care to middle rate

I think you would have the back payment by now if it was a yes.

I was thinking maybe cause it was bank holiday on the Monday after the decision maybe I’m just hoping I really hope I don’t have to do the mandatory reconsideration will take forever again!!

Mandatory reconsideration is a pain but if successful you would have a huge backpay after the long wait. Good luck x

In my experience the money goes in within two or three days of the decision being made. It would have been in your bank account last week.

Hi Kate did you get awarded after mandatory reconsideration? If so how long did it take for it my daughter was declined I had a text Wednesday sayin thanks for us asking again and I had a letter saying take up to 11 weeks just wondering how roughly yours took if you have had a decision? Tia x
