Anyone flown Ryanair recently and checked a 10kg into the hold?

I really didn't want to fly Ryanair. Now I remember why.

We paid to check in a 10kg bag each and at the time it looked like it could be 80120120 for all check in bags.

However.... on the bag page it only states what size 20 and 23kg bags can be. It only talks about the 10kg carry on. No 10kg hold bag.

You only talk to the chat bot. Which again only talks about the carry on 10kg bag. And to look at my booking... which takes me back to the bag page that doesn't state the 10kg checked hold bag.

Anyone who has used Ryan air recently and has checked a 10kg bag into the hold? What size is it please?

Ti already feel the rage of the man smashing off his case wheels and handle. It's a simple question but I feel they are setting up to overcharge if I go for the bigger bag.

Thanks

I travel regularly with Ryanair and select a 10kg checked bag on the way out, and 20kg or whatever on the way back. It's the same suitcase and it's definitely not cabin size. But it's all self check in anyway.

Great! Thank you so much for this. That's such a good idea to up the allowance coming back, didnt think of that and not sure if id have to pay to amend it now. I'm taking knackered clothes to throw in a recycling bin before I leave. Either that or wearing 3 outfits home.

I did this recently, but I used a case which also satisfies Ryanair’s 10kg cabin bag size requirements, so your question didn’t occur to me. I don’t think they are too bothered about what size the 10kg hold bag is, as long as it’s ok weight-wise.

What about your carry on if it's a bigger rucksack but not full so it squires easily in the correct dimensions?

I’ve checked a 10kg bag on Ryanair many times (including today) and I’ve never seen them measure any hold bag. I couldn’t tell you what size my 10kg bag as I’ve never bothered to check. It’s just not an issue.

Phew! Thank you

It just needs to fit into the checker. Can be a larger rucksack if it's not full.
