Ur, or his wife/partner works long hours or in a school/hospital etc where it’s not flexible. Nursery is on his way to work.

it’s like it’s the 1950s

18 months be done all the drop offs, she's never attended sporta day or stay & plays

Are there mums who have done all drop offs, sports days and stay and plays? I’m assuming ‘yes’? Do you think they’re all single?

Ivenoname · 28/08/2025 19:48

Poor guy going about his everyday business looking after his child and some predatory woman wants to hit on him!
Bit of a change from the usual scenario.

My son does the nursery run every day as it’s on his way to work.

hes not single.

He's also not at work 6 weeks of the year and doesn't do pick ups....does he also attend stay and plays plus sports day. And is he well every single day..

DH wad always bemused by the amount of times women tried to chat him up when he toom our toddlers to Soft play. Because apparently being single is the only reason a man would do that. (It was their weekly thing so I had three hours child free time at the weekend!)

Men are allowed to do things for their children while in relationships

My DH takes our DS swimming every Sunday morning after dropping me at work. Never occurred that the other regular Sunday morning swimmers would think he was single but apparently they may Confused

She’s at work. Leave her husband alone!

This is either bollocks or you are a deranged stalker with too much time on your hands

Weekend activity are hardly the same as drop off, sports day, stay and play

Even if he's single, don't hit on him at the nursery gates, it's so desperate!

gollyimholly · 28/08/2025 19:50

DH's manager's husband did all their kids drop offs and pickups. She didn't really do any of the other things you mention either as she had the very intense job and her husband was the SAHP. And they seem very happily married (my evidence really is going to their home for summer/Christmas party and they seem happy enough).

EsmeSusanOgg · 28/08/2025 19:50
  1. why not just talk to other parents at drop off.
  2. he may not be single (see many other posts about dads doing the nursery/ school run
  3. if he is single, he may not be interested.
ForZanyAquaViewer · 28/08/2025 19:50

I love OP’s determination. 🤣🤣🤣

If you’re so sure he’s single, why’d you ask us?!

Mewling · 28/08/2025 19:51

I never thought of the nursery drop-off as a place to pick up men. Missed a trick there.

AlwaysTheRenegade · 28/08/2025 19:51

My husband does all the pick up and drop offs, and I rarely get to school events. Ask another of the mums but don't assume

Icecreamandcoffee · 28/08/2025 19:51

ByDandyTurtle · 28/08/2025 19:46

She also doesn't do to stay and plays or sports day....

Completely plausible. There is a dad at DDs school who does all pick ups, drop offs, school events (assemblies, sports day, Xmas show, Easter show, open afternoon). He has his own business and his wife is a primary school teacher. Wife can never get time off for school events. He keeps his own diary and schedules his work around school events.

My DH always did the morning nursery run because he started work later….

Ever occurred to you that she might have a job she can't leave for those things?

Theunamedcat · 28/08/2025 19:52

My ex did the school run for a few months I was the one getting all the kids up dressed and ready he was taking ds to school and telling everyone he had been struggling with the kids and I was sleeping basically using the baby to get numbers and sympathy I ended up doing the school run myself after my friend messaged me thinking I was unwell he then made me walk to school while he took the car everyone was telling me how nice it was he was doing so much for me...I laughed he did nothing but pick up a clean and fed child and put them in and out of the car

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 28/08/2025 19:53

How are any of us going to know? Go ask him and then come back and tell us

Maybe he is maybe he isn't, ask without casting shade on women who don't do nursery stuff

FreebieWallopFridge · 28/08/2025 19:53

Approach him about what exactly?

Well it is predatory if the minute you see a guy doing what you obviously regard as women 's stuff you immediately think he is available to hit on.
