First day of new job – no info on start time

I’m due to start a new job on Monday (just two working days away).

I spoke with HR yesterday, and they CC’d my new manager asking her to confirm what time I should arrive on my first day. I then got an out-of-office reply from my manager saying she’ll be back Monday - the day I start.

I’ve since emailed HR directly to ask what time I should come in, but I’ve had radio silence. My contract states 9 - 5:30, so do I just turn up at 9 on Monday morning?

It feels a bit silly asking this, but it’s playing on my mind and im a bag of nerves ahead of my first day...

I'd get there for 8.45ish unless you hear otherwise. Usually we had new starters come in a bit later but unless you are specifically told to come in for 10am (or whatever) then best be there a little early.

Good luck.

Yeah just turn up at 9, as per your contract. Worst case, you'll be hanging around. Best case, it's when you're expected.
