I probably am being totally U...but...
I've been working away all week. DH has been at home with dc's during HT.
I asked him to get the boys hair trimmed (trimmed!!!!) for a wedding next week.
Got home tonight, ds1 has been trimmed,...ds2 has had all his lovely long hair cut off. I'm gutted and feel like crying.
I know, I know, I'm being ridiculous aren't I?....

how does ds2 feel?

ingles2 · 30/05/2008 21:38

ds2 doesn't care! I know it's not really a biggie and he's still gorgeous. But is bloody layered! with a mullet!

How old is he? I like short hair on boys tbh, unless they are very young.

ingles2 · 30/05/2008 21:58

He's just 7... We've tried all sorts of hair cuts on him from very short to long but this kind of shoulder length bowl cut really suited him. ds1 has short hair so it's not that. It just doesn't suit his little pixie face

Oh yanbu, I would be the same.

mumeeee · 30/05/2008 22:37

Sorry YABU. at 7 boys could be teased at school for habing long hair.

Limara · 30/05/2008 22:48

lots of kids in my town have long hair, so teasing not really the issue here.

Flamesparro · 30/05/2008 22:50

Yup, how does DS2 feel is the right question here.

CrazyMofo · 30/05/2008 22:59

Its all the rahe to have long hair isnt it? i love long hair on boys, it makes them look different from all the typical skin heads you see. Cant see them getting bullied for it

CrazyMofo · 30/05/2008 22:59

all the rage

ravenAK · 30/05/2008 23:02

It'll grow back!

YABa bit U, if you left it with dh to get their hair cut (want something done properly, etc etc)

But I can see why you're annoyed.

MsHighwater · 31/05/2008 00:08

Your 7 year old ds had a shoulder length bowl cut. YABU.

Your dh got him a mullet. HIBU, too.

lins1uk · 31/05/2008 00:59

yanbu i would have been so mad!

jasper · 31/05/2008 01:22

You ar NOT being unreasonable.
Both my sons have long hair.I love it and so do they.

if dh got it cut short I would seriously question our relationship!!
make that start divorce proceedings.

Really I am a very laid back mother but I would absolutley cry

ingles2 · 31/05/2008 10:07

LOL Highwater
In theory I agree with you totally but he's got a really small face, a double crown, double cows lick and most cuts look dreadful and I've been proved right this morning,. it's sticking up in every direction and he looks likes he's got a mop on his head. I could kill DH!

Up to your ds (he's 7 after all, not a toddler!!).
There's no reason why you should have a greater right to decide on his hairstyle than your dh. You may not like it, but that's not the point!! If your ds objects to his haircut, fair enough, but it sounds like he's not bothered. So neither should you be!
