Period pains on and off in stomach and back 37+5

Hi everyone

Felt fine (apart from usual aches and pains of being heavily pregnant) yesterday and we took our DD to our local RHS site.

Did a few mile walk around and I started getting intense period pain on my right side so DH thought it would be a good idea to get home. I had a warm bath whilst DH double checked hospital bags and sorted 2yo DD dinner etc.

I felt “off” all evening but sat on my pregnancy ball and got an early night as the pain subsided after bath (I was getting stabbing pains in my cervix for about an hour before finally falling asleep).

This morning I’ve got quite intense cramping which feels like period pain (I’ve got endometriosis so can be really quite painful) in my lower stomach and lower back. There is no patten to them but I’m just aware of it constantly iyswim and feel quite nauseous.

I haven’t lost any waters or mucus plug.
I was induced with DD so never went into labour by myself so this is new to me.

I feel exactly like I do when I’ve got a bad period, crampy, a bit grumpy, very tired. Not sure if I need to be checked out?

I saw midwife on Saturday as had an iron infusion and my urine was checked and BP and they were all clear.

Any advice would be great, thank you!

Ring your midwife and speak to her for advice. She might want you to come in and be checked over.

Agree, ring the hospital unit and ask to be seen just to be sure what’s going on

I’d 100% agree to phone and get checked if they advise it best- but make sure you’ve had lots of water to drink, it’s common to get more crampy period pain type feelings when you’re dehydrated.
also round ligament pain can feel like that stabbing pain down low at the side,as you were doing a decent walk and baby is heavier and probably lower now.
so it may be nothing to worry about, but at this stage of pregnancy always worth making sure if in any doubt.

Thanks everyone, I saw consultant today and have an induction booked next week at 39 weeks for a variety of reasons. Baby is fully engaged and head pushing on my cervix so she said he may be here before then!

Even if you saw consultant today still call and check - the day I was born, my mum had seen consultant 12 hrs prior and said he'd see her 12 weeks later. I clearly had other ideas...
